[A-RP] The Lunar Shadow 🌘

Do you have what it takes to confront rogue mages and unsanctioned magic users? Are you someone with a shadowed past looking to bring order and safety to society?
Then your path leads to the Lunar Shadow. We are a covert arm of the Moonguard, operating under the authority of the Kirin Tor. Our mission: to identify, confront, and neutralize unregulated magical threats wherever they arise. If you’re ready to turn your past into a weapon for the greater good, report to Captain Alerhion.

Concept:
The Lunar Shadow is a semi-official organization aligned with both the Kirin Tor and the Moonguard. In the wake of Dalaran’s fall, as the Kirin Tor focuses its efforts on rebuilding, we have been entrusted with a critical task: maintaining order in their absence.

Our directive is clear - track down and deal with designated threats, particularly rogue mages and unlicensed wielders of magic, by any means necessary. We operate in the grey, where precision, discretion, and resolve are valued above all else.

Events:
Most of our operations revolve around the pursuit of individuals wanted by the Kirin Tor or the Moonguard - those who threaten the delicate balance of magical order.

But that is not all.

The world is still rife with unexplained phenomena, unnatural disturbances and arcane enigmas that defy simple explanation. Where others turn away, we step forward. Investigating the unknown is as much a part of our duty as enforcing magical law.

Rules:
We do not shy away from those with colorful pasts - in fact, such individuals often bring the edge we need. Whether you’re a reformed outlaw, a wayward scholar, or someone simply seeking redemption, there is room for you here.

What matters is not where you come from, but what you can offer.

Power. Cunning. Resolve. These are the qualities we value.
And above all, the will to fight for a just cause: to keep society safe from the chaos magic can bring when left unchecked.

[OOC]:
If you’re a fan of John Wick, Sakamoto Days, Jujutsu Kaisen, or any story that dives into the world of assassins, agents, and secret orders - then you’re going to feel right at home here.

The Lunar Shadow blends high-stakes action, magical intrigue, and moral grey areas into a tight-knit RP experience focused on pursuing dangerous targets, uncovering arcane mysteries and walking the line between justice and necessity.

We keep it simple when it comes to rules:

  • No ERP in public
  • Behave properly
  • No god-modding

Outside of that, you’re free to shape your character, your story, and your path.

[Q&A]:
Wasn’t the Kirin Tor destroyed? There are some remnants of course and they’ve been busy with other things so that is why we have been tasked with maintaining some order.

Both the Moonguard and the Kirin Tor? We are a semi-official organization that was first only affiliated with the Moonguard but in time began to work closely with the Kirin Tor as well.

So are you a police guild? Of course not - don’t expect us to patrol the streets and harass people to show us a license to practise magic.

Unsolicited magic use? Is that a thing? Do you believe that the Kirin Tor would leave anybody to practise whatever they please?

Recruitment:
Recruitment is done mostly IC - contact either Denarhion-ArgentDawn or Broull-ArgentDawn through in-game DMs or mail.

When magic breaks its leash - we’re the chain.

I like this concept but I’m not sure about the “unlicensed user” part of it. As warlock RPers at some point had to suffer from “Ya got a loicense fo dat bruv” for some time, how do you aim to go about persecuting these magic users? Not that I am a rogue mage or something :eyes:

We are not going out pursuing real players as I hate such militaristic/police guilds hence why I have stated it in the Q&A section.

Thanks, I clearly missed that part. Good luck with the guild!

Situation Assessment: The Cubic artifact in Azsuna
Date: 9.05, 41st Year After the Dark Portal

Overview:
This document provides an official assessment of the recent incident involving the anomalous artifact, herein referred to as the Cube, located in Azsuna.

Initial Incident:
Following a sudden and unexplained outpouring of shadow energies from the Cube, Captain Alerhion of the Lunar Shadow was dispatched to investigate. He was accompanied by Argiope Starsilk and Hephelistos of New Surwich. Upon their arrival at the artifact’s location, the conditions surrounding the Cube appeared largely static and unchanged from the earlier deport.

Escalation:
Shortly after initiating their assessment, a shadowy appendage emerged from the artifact. A hand seized Captain Alerhion’s chain. In response, the investigation team engaged the entity. Through coordinated effort, they successfully overpowered the creature. From the shadows, a larger construct materialized - a monster of considerable magnitude, possessing twenty heads and twenty limbs. This entity wielded potent void magic and immediately launched a sustained barrage against the group.

Resolution:
During the engagement, Argiope Starsilk identified a nearby ley line. Utilizing its power, he directed a concentrated arcane blast at the Cube. This strike caused the artifact to expand rapidly, restarting the containment field that successfully imprisoned the creature once again. Following containment, the Cube reverted to its prior dormant state, identical to its condition several days earlier.

Conclusion:
While crisis was averted for now, continued observation is advised until an expert team is sent to investigate within the cubic artifact.

Field Report: Investigation of Cubic Artifact in Azsuna
Date: REDACTED
Filed by: Prof. Dr. Keldarion Umbralleaf, Doctor Artis Arcanae of the Moonguard
Involved Parties:
Captain Alerhion Windslice (Lunar Shadow) - Team Lead
Theldramor (Illidari)
Min Min (REDACTED)
REDACTED - Classified Presence

Summary:
Following prior investigative efforts concerning anomalous activity in Azsuna, a team was dispatched to the site of the previously discovered cubic artifact. The team was led by Captain Alerhion Windslice of the Lunar Shadow and included Theldramor, a former member of the Illidari, and Min Min, a REDACTED operative. REDACTED also accompanied the group in an undisclosed capacity.

Encounter and Hostile Entity:
Upon arrival at the artifact’s location, the team was confronted by a mysterious entity that had assumed the form of a Moonguard officer. Notably, the entity lacked a face and, upon engaging with the team, exhibited immediate hostility. Theldramor was able to swiftly eliminate the threat.

Artifact Reaction and Dimensional Shift:
Following the confrontation, one of Theldramor’s REDACTED came into contact with the artifact. This triggered a sudden expansion of the cube, which began siphoning all matter and energy in its vicinity, including the investigation team into itself. Inside the manifested pocket realm, the team observed a surreal environment composed of endless flower-covered plains. This peaceful setting was soon overtaken by encroaching darkness, followed by the appearance of a row of corpses. A second, more formidable entity then emerged from behind them.

Engagement Within the Pocket Realm:
The new entity proved immune to conventional forms of harm and wielded powerful psychic abilities. It inflicted significant damage upon the team, who were simultaneously occupied with the protection of REDACTED. During the confrontation, Captain Alerhion deployed an artifact of the Bronze Dragonflight, previously acquired by Thaelithra. In a coordinated effort, Theldramor engaged the entity to buy time, while Min Min recovered the artifact after it was forcibly dislodged from the captain’s grasp. Utilizing the artifact, the group succeeded in escaping the pocket dimension and re-emerged at the original artifact site.

Post-Escape Observations:
Upon return, the artifact was no longer present. Subsequent surveys by the Moonguard revealed that the nullmagic aura had dissipated entirely. No residual contamination by fel or shadow energies was detected.

Casualties and Injuries:
Captain Alerhion Windslice - Injured (treated post-mission; currently stable)
Min Min - Injured
Theldramor - Minor injuries
REDACTED - Minor injuries
Medical assistance was rendered by REDACTED afterwards with aid from Theldramor.

Status:
The artifact remains missing. The site is currently deemed clear of active threat. Further monitoring and analysis are ongoing.

Report: Lune’Danel Shrine

Subject: Investigation Request - Lune’Danel Shrine
Location: Reported near the border of Suramar and Azsuna
Submitted by: Prof. Dr. Keldarion Umbralleaf
Date: REDACTED

Summary:
Recent rumors have surfaced regarding a place referred to as the “Lune’Danel Shrine”, allegedly located on or near the border between Suramar and Azsuna. Despite numerous references by local inhabitants, no verified records or physical evidence support the existence of such a shrine.

Details:
Local accounts describe Lune’Danel Shrine as a hidden or elusive site, though no known cartographic or historical data confirms its presence. Some residents believe it lies just within the border region, though precise coordinates vary.

A local druid, whose identity remains confidential for safety, has issued warnings discouraging any attempts to seek out the shrine. According to the druid, the Lune’Danel Shrine does not exist within this plane of existence. Furthermore, the name is said to be deliberately misleading - implying a connection to Elune that does not exist. Instead, it may host something far more malevolent.

Recommendation:
Due to the mysterious and potentially dangerous nature of this anomaly, it is recommended that the Lunar Shadow initiate a preliminary investigation. The objectives will include:

Verifying the shrine’s existence (or lack thereof).

Determining the nature of the threat, if any.

Assessing any planar instability or magical disturbance in the area.
