Introducing the “Arena entry ticket” an account wide item that grants a high priority queue when used on any character on the account while queuing solo suffle.
Award that ticket with a weekly quest asking to participate in 18 rounds (3 matchs) of solo shuffle.
I think it would incentivize confident players to queue on their healer so that their dps characters can play the game when they don’t have much time to queue (like trying to play on a lunch break etc…)
How about just nerf the damage to the point it’s not a oneshot fiesta so healers can actually heal and have fun too?
The issue mostly applies to the casual players which are overwhelming majority.
A casual player can log on his warrior or DH and have fun pressing his 2 buttons. He will trinket a random 2 second stun, he will waste all his cds but he will be able to win and he will enjoy this game and que again.
A casual player who will log on his holy priest, however, will try to cast a heal, get kicked and die in 5 seconds. He will never que again after that. And until you solve this issue, no arena tickets will save you.
So the solution is either to nerf damage as a whole so eben the most casual healer would be able to handle it, or to make one or multiple healer specs braindead enough so you won’t die, you won’t go oom, you won’t get kicked and you only would need 2 buttons. Evoker is close but still too complex.
I think the skill floor of spec is waaaay to imbalanced between dps specs and healers even outside of arena but in arena it’s way worse
What i proposed is defintly a solution to make more experienced players take their healers but do not solve the problem at the bottom and middle of the player base, yes.
For the skill requierement they kind of tried a couple expansion back didn’t they? If I remember correctly holy priest could spam greater heal for 65% health while standing in an anti interrupt area or something like that.
And then you see dps complaining about the 3 cc immunity of evoker while it barely allows them to play during the opponent burst.
Yep defintly need to make it easier to heal, at least for 1 minute of the fight so they don’t get discouraged and leave forever. Making healer immortal would just create a boring dampening meta.
as a player who play 2 healers in shuffle, i played mw first day and was like 2k cr with decent players, second and other day are always about 1000cr lower and zero expirience person in team, always 3/3 with zero rating, or 2-4 (-70) 4-2 (+10). Really tired of this broken system and healing noobs, don’t want to play healers anymore, literally every game we have a 0:6 dd
Yeah, because that tootally wouldn’t mess with queue times for people, nuh-uh. Not to mention how much easier it’d become to do the premade exploit as DPSers like that.
That perhaps we all should make it more enjoyable for healers to join Solo Shuffle and PvP overall?
There’s very little fun about being absolutely trained by two zerging melees without your team helping in any way at all. And what do you get for surviving awhile? Complaints that you should have tossed a stun on the enemy healer when your team mates popped their offensives while not even caring about the enemy’s defensives.
Want more healers in PvP? Start supporting them when they’re there instead of burning them down.
Would buff general healing throughput, nerf defensive cds on healers, nerf offensive cds on dds, give healers more tools against interrupts and ccs (like casting anything on a healer with low mobility is miserable right now) and reduce self healing of dds.
I played to 2200 and stopped, so many times u get placed vs other healer that has 1500 or 500 cr and u have to go 6-0 to gain any rating if u lose even one round u lose -40 rating the system is so fking terrible its insane it went live in this state
dps die in first stun of the game without pressign a single cd and u just feel like ur team is trolling and making u lose such a waste of time, better to play normal arena as healer
this statement is just proof that something is seriously wrong, i think that TAB targeting RPG game should focus more on strategy using abilities not on how fast you can smash your head agains keyboard, i dont get why blizzard wants everyone die in split second, we have overwatch and other FPS games for this
That’s why there should be a mmr queue implemented. You cant get into a shuffle with people lower that 500mmr. So you won’t drop so much. Or reduce the rating loss, if somebody lower than 500mmr/cr is within the group. So you only lose a maximum of 15 to 20 cr.
The system OP mentions does work in OW for years now and it’s great!
I wouldn’t ever queue as dps before I got my tickets as tank/healer there as my queue times take ages even with the newly introduced 5v5.
Please do this, would help a lot.
Also: buff resto shamans. They need it.
