By some accident you managed to land on an actual fun playstyle with the whole sentinel hydra thing we had going on, giving us viable 2 target cleave that we haven’t ever had as MM.
And that was nice, for the 4 weeks we actually got to enjoy it (since mythic opened). And now you’ve just decided, as usual, MM is not allowed to be better than BM or be good at all so let’s not only buff BM to make it better than MM, but also rework MM to the point that the hydra build is dead and we’re left with some abomination of a rework that feels infinitely worse to play. As someone that’s played hunter for many years, it just feels like MM has become a “maybe good for a month in the beginning of the tier, then back to BM when it ultimately is tuned to be the better” spec. And doing it halfway through the tier after many of us have already committed vaults/raids targeting MM items is another punch to the gut.
Lets not mention the buffs to dh/dks and leaving warlocks untouched on top of everything. Which is so ridiculous, the whole reason you said you reigned in MM was because it was overperforming (on 1 raid fight btw). Well, warlocks are doing 10% more overall than literally anyone else in M+, and DH/DKs have been two of the top specs since the expansion started. All this both in M+ and Raid. We not applying that logic to them tho, just MM right?
It’s so exhausting, I started playing hunter because I liked the archer archetype, meanwhile I’m stuck shouting at my pets instead of actually being an archer. Constantly having to make sure they’re not gonna bug out on a ledge or pull some random mob half the world away when skipping in a dungeon. I’d switch class if I could, but unfortunately hunters are the only “archer” class, even though 2 of their specs I wouldn’t even consider archers.
Stop hating on MM hunter blizzard. BM should inherently always be tuned to perform worse because of how easy it is to get 100% efficiency out of it. Not by a lot, but a couple % at the very least. The whole point of BM is that its an entry spec since its so elementary to get ahold of and be optimal at. That being the case, you cant have BM being the easiest spec (in the game probably) and ALSO the highest performing of the 3 hunter specs, that’s my 2 cents at least. Never heard anyone that plays at high enough level, where these differences in a couple % matter, say that they find BM more fun than MM. We all just do it because you keep tuning BM to be better.
^ Granted, this last part is biased from my POV. I wouldn’t mind if the balance between which one we play was more even, but for the last few expansions it’s felt like BM has been a lot more dominant than MM, therefore > im salty x)
