About Voltaic Blaze

Howdy!

First of all I’ll say that I’m not extremely happy with the talent revamp for Midnight, the removal of Icefury and Primordial Wave, nerfs to Stormkeeper/Ascendance, Elementals becoming tied to those cooldowns, uninspired nodes like “+2% mastery”…

But there’s one ability that I was really looking forward to: Voltaic Blaze! This spell was about to return the utility of Liquid Magma Totem and Primordial Wave (AoE Flame Shock and AoE Lava Burst!). I picked it and, in my excitement, I missed a key line:
Replaces Flame Shock”

This shouldn’t be a huge deal by itself, but unfortunately, having 10 to 14 sec Cooldown makes it really impractical to use when fighting enemies one after another, when it’s dispelled or misses for some reason, and to make things worse it also has the habit of hitting nearby CC’d targets. It feels disruptive anywhere outside of the Target Dummy.

I honestly don’t know why this ability has to replace Flame Shock when it has considerably different behavior and use cases.

This thing is prob getting fixed before the season start.

Because of almost identical use cases.

Flame Shock is used on one target and has a 6 sec cd, and Blaze has a 7.5-15 sec cd but it is on all 6 enemies.

may whatever god the person, who decided to remove that crap ability, believes in bless him for all eternity.
That change alone made me love them forever

If you are fighting enemies in such a quick succession, that the cooldown becomes a hindrance…you dont need to put flame shock on the enemies in the first place. At that point just pull a whole bunch of them and twiddle your thumbs in an EQ.

….dispells? I can remember exactly one type of enemy in all of tww, that i fought, that could remove debuffs. And for pvp…OH NO, A DOWNSIDE TO BEING ABLE TO ATTACK MULTIPLE ENEMIES AT ONCE
…. and miss….yea… dont use it on a rogue in cloak. easy fix.
