I really wanted to play my monk, I’ve got essences for priest and prot.pally but I don’t want to farm them again…
I don’t want to play priest (really weak right now (raids are ok), I haven’t got time to farm this trash again.
So, looks like I won’t play wow anymore. Till shadowlands…or maybe never.

No they dont have them geared. 2 epic drops per 40 man raid doubth if they have atleast 50% bwl bis on 1 char.
You prevent us from to play alts that is what you want this, the dev team. Do not make mistake again next time, which you do it now.
I think the main reason why this won’t happen is that they would like to give players a bad benchmark so they can make shadowlands alt friendy and players will appreciate that better.
Something is definitely wrong with Activision/Blizzard. I can’t imagine that anyone thought that making essences not account wide would be a good idea.
Do you know how many times they said they will not be making Classic servers?
How there would not be an official way to buy gold for money?
How there would not be transfers from Normal to PvP servers?

Trying to remaster old games tends to take more resolve, time and effort than adding a few lines of code and flipping a few “switches”, or simply adding a vendor that sells the essences you have unlocked before.
Account wide essences will not “cost a raid tier” of the Shadowlands.
That’s too much risk for a company to withhold good products for later and provide bad products first so that people can appreciate better the good ones. Never heard of that before.
Also, just friendly advice: don’t take their promise, to make SL alt-friendly, to the bank. They broke their own words a lot of times, I wouldn’t trust them with anything, they have proven deception and mind changes every step through Bfa.
They do so ask them. I mean if u play with good guilds most of them have the gear already. Miss those days when alts was easier.
So much assumptions here , i am not sure what people saying alts shouldn’t be competitive define the purpose of the alt as then ? Is it just a character for picking herbs etc ? The alt culture towards end of expansions has been a thing for many expansions. The fact of the matter is that gating certain essences behind old tier content ie azshara raid is not acceptable or fair to expect players to do. There really is no explanation to why they refuse to allow account wide essences other than purely I imagine they believe it keeps people playing longer to do said time gated content on alts but the reality is many dont bother. Tis a shame in my opinion but that’s all it is an opinion
And you mean what by gear? Becouse there is gear and there is bis gear. And it took them what 4-6 months to get? You can be fully geared in BFA 1 week into new patch and without essences and other grind most people would have nothing to do at that point.
You do not need R3s even on your main.I have no tank R3s on my highest dps character. She intends not to tank any day soon anymore. She also has very fixed major essence and relativelt fixed minor essences, and she having a R2 equipped did not impact her ability to run 95% logs in HC raid.
No. You do not need R3s everywhere, and your most alts would be fine with R1s too.And even that because to get rid of the system spam.
A friend of mine has bis on 3 characters. Im fully aware what bis means. Sure miss classic when i could spam dungs all day and just play the game on all my characters. Lategame was nowhere near the grind and i could just play several characters. Hope they get inspired by how more alt friendly it was back then.
Most of the power comes from just having essences ,no need to bother with r3 for alts
But for some Rank 3 provides a much better boost to power than rank 1.
For Blood of the enemy between rank 1 and 3 you get
Major: 1.5 min CD opposed to 2 mins. 25% crit damage for 5 sec
Minor: stacks gain crit strike. 25% chance to consume only 30 stacks
For crit centric builds like me that extra crit damage and crit from the passive adds up to a whole lot.
