It seems blizz has reduced requirements to essences (at least some?). Still 10days to get the one from nazjatar has been made 7days grind. Not much different…
I only pick up easy ones for my alts. Optimal? If it happens to be one of the easy ones, but really… I sure as hell will not go try to pick up some of the more time consuming ones. No way. This excludes most alts from relevant content(?).
So new players will have no trouble getting Condensed life force? They won’t have to spend ages getting revered with mechagon? They won’t have to spend days doing dailies in nazjatar? Those are not current content.

No, they’ll spend 10’ish days to get flying and 3 rank 3 essences. There’s an argument to be made about timegating but for their first run that’s fine
That’s current content as long as they have yet to get rewards from the content and haven’t done it over and over again like most of us here have.
Being in a zone for a week or two isn’t that bad, and they’ll need to spend some time there anyway as you can’t jump into the 8.3 content right away without farming WQ & nazjatar for a little while anyway.
Still sims BiS for me (oddly enough)
I disagree. New players should be forced to go through each content a bare minimum of times to experience it. New characters from old players shouldn’t.
But that’s my opinion on the matter. And I’m sure there’s people who disagree, just how I disagree with your opinion.

Pretty much this. Unless they make them account wide I don’t really think I’ll be playing until 9.0.
Farmed reputation and all that on 3 toons, parked 2 and that’s enough for me.
I have alliance main and horde main. Collected essences for both of them.
Rest of my alts? They died already somewhere quite a while ago. This expansion is not alt friendly.
Alts should get stuff easier that you already collected on your main.
New players should need to play all the content, imo.

Ghostcrawler said suck it up for the difficulty spike from WoTLK to Cata dungeons and it took 3mil leaving for him to revert them

Individual threads keep popping up because the issue isn’t being addressed.
I got my hopes up seeing the Blizz logo on this thread thinking that maybe for once a blue post would be responding to a thread of some importance.
But instead I’m just dissapointed, yet again.

hey guys i see alot of comments some who dont like it and some who want it. i think it should be accountwide, because its and old patch, i love essences and think its cool. however it is the last patch and shadowlands coming out soon, essences are out of the picture. I also love trying something new once in a while, but thats a little tedious when i have to go through the whole grind over again on my alts. Problem is, its timegated most of it, i have no issue to grind my way to a rank three essence. I also have a scenario with a friend, i simply told him that theres no point in returning since he has to do all the old content just to catchup with us. Sure you could say “whats the problem just having rank 1?”, it just makes alot of difference to both gameplay and dps. If i could grind mobs for an essence i have no issue, but when i have to use a month getting condensed lifeforce rank 3 it becomes and issue. First of all theres few grps that are doing this right now since everyone is doing the new raid. We get BoA gear that is nice, but certain essences makes a massive difference to the damage output classes need. also tanks and healers need specific essences to perform optimal. Keep up the work guys im hyped for shadowlands and already preordered! I would gladly appreciate if you gave this some thought!
8 days of doing dailies. - 20- 30 min
Max 16 days of doing 3 daily qeusts- 15 min
takes 45 min max with mechagon and nazjatar of daily quests easy soloable to get reward you want.
Get right info before you talk about what you know nothing about.
And thsi are THE LONGEST THEY TAKE REST TAKE WAY LESS TIME TO GET.
SO jsut stop with this nonsense.
You want stuff work for it get ti simple as that.
Example for you guys maybe you will get it .
YOu work somewhere after 6 months you get 20% more each month.
Next day random Joes shows up and he gets same since first day he does not do more he does not do better most likely he does even less than you and even worse in that job.

After finally unlocking flying I’m not touching another daily lol burn out is a thing. This is a game you PAY to play shouldn’t be a second job unless they start paying us btw

It’s only a second job if you make it one.
Don’t stick to the same routine day in day out. That will always burn you out.
Vary up.
Do what you feel like doing.
Why do you need essences on alts ? 
power gains are mediocre .and totally unnecessary for alt purposes 
So that’s why sites like icy veins say which ones to stack and what to use as they don’t add much right lol.

Icy veins say that you should lvl to 120
lol so because I change mains each expac and don’t change avatar means I can’t have 120 characters… explain how its so bad if they were account bound?

Because its not in mmo “tradition”
if you ask me,essences should be sold by vendor .And you obtain currency by doing content of your choice !same currency would drop both from pve and pvp ,with weekly cap.
one vendor one currency all essences available !
So to get them on alts you would still need to grind ,just in more enjoyable way

Yes and it ends there no where in your payment you get anything for it beyond acces to serves and data stored.
