Activision Blizzard sued by California Department of Fair Employment

Are you 12? Seriously, you give us “normal” men a very, VERY bad name.

Its just the world that we live in now. Im not defending what was done. If they were legitimate assaults I hope everyone involved to rot in jail.

That being said, the world has become this oversensitive and “woke” place and it shoved in everyone’s face at a daily basis to the point it loses any value and becomes annyoing to say the least.

hurrdurr ye totally normal.
-some edgelord.

I agree with this.

Hmm… well. Interesting defence from Blizz though.

As I said earlier - even if Blizzard is innocent they deserve this slap.

There are definitely statements in this defence that I agree with. This isn’t just a Blizzard problem, it’s a California problem, so it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Blizzard are both perpetrators and victims of this culture.

It’s kind of interesting how many Blizzard insiders are taking the side of the state, so I definitely think there’s something to it, and I also find that defence very unprofessionally written.

Alright, pitchforks were already out. Let’s get the popcorn, too. And don’t forget some milk to deal with the inevitable spice that’s about to get thrown around.

But the most important thing for me about this is to make sure these women are well taken care of and protected from further harassment and bullying - even if there isn’t any it’s always good to protect people who ask for it, and of course there might very well be.

Dude, if there was an actual assault they should be send to mines for 20 years of hard work. However, if it’s something like: “he looked at me as if I was a piece of meat and it made me feel uncomfortable” then piss off! Everything offends everyone nowadays, it’s worst than covid!

Have you read the case before you utter these rambles?

Anyone with half a brain cell who actually read the report wouldn’t have uttered those things.

Sometimes I joke about that the Indians put a curse over the Americans for slaughtering their way to victory, due to how screwed up USA is. And sometimes that silly theory seems more likely to be true by every minute that passes.

Honestly for the sake of humanity, I do root for that all of this is fake, but that’s kinda wishful thinking I guess.

Ho ok you directly go to insults. What an incel. You are a nice proof of the matter at hand.

What is with this hate? I hate to use the word but it smells of incel tbh. You are not entitled to attention. If you give flowers and someone doesn’t want them, don’t keep on bringing them, common sense noh? Why do you feel entitled enough that anyone needs to just deal with your flower bombing? How is that even normal?

I cannot believe people are shilling for blizzard after this, I can only imagine they haven’t read the allegations. This after stacks and stacks of other bad news and poor conduct by Blizzard.

Yeah, luckily it was in a tiny little town in the UK (I’d move their for University, but I’m originally from ‘a big city’) so when I told him a few home truths on leaving I was blacklisted from all the other firms in the area, that still stands till this day. Had to explain to my other half why I moved back home and I could never really work in her home town again.

I’d imagine their are certainly some very good wholesome people working as Blizz, if they had their head screwed on, this would be the time to clear the decks.

There’s really a lot that can be said on the topic and most of it will offend someone. But for me, it boils down to the “assault” part - implying physical contact was made, which was not sanctioned by the receiving party (aka groping at least). That’s where I personally draw the line. How someone looked at me, what they fantasized about doing to me or what they joked about has little to no consequence on my life, up until the point physical contact is made. If course, I’m an ugly gamer dude, so obviously I’ve never had any woman show interest in me so I can’t say with 100% certainty how a person would feel in such a case.

The point is, as people mentioned, this is a state-level case, not a civil case. The State wouldn’t take action unless they have solid evidence (and I’m inclined to believe they do, given Blizzard’s already bad reputation). Which, at least for me, is reason enough to believe there was indeed a criminal offense within the Blizzard game development team. And it should be addressed.

And this is what’s wrong with a lot of society today.
Flowers?! Really?! Come on…

I mean sure; groping, sexual remarks and all that, yeah that’s crossing a line.
But flowers… If that for real would make you ‘strongly afraid’, I think there’s issues about YOU YOURSELF that you need to deal with.

We’re heading towards a society where you ‘have to ask for consent’ before you can even say ‘hello’ to someone or smile at them. Jesus.

Ps; to be clear, I’m not condoning any of the alleged goings-on in that report.
But remarks like above are a real problem AS WELL.

I don’t know what that is but I’m pretty sure it’s not me.

That person took what I said out of context. Really do not understand what do you want?

Please explain to me how that would be a form of harassment and how exactly would that make you afraid? I legitimately dont understand. Its not as if giving flowers represents a deep desire of anyone to do you harm. How is being appreciated in this simplest form harrassment?

People(women mostly) say chivalry is dead. When a guy tries to do something like this is considered harrasment nowadays. How do you expect us to try that again in the future for someone who would appreciate it?

No, you misread I think.

It’s not about the flowers. Like you can give it once to see how someone reacts. But sending flowers over and over is creepy. Ye I know it’s just flowers, it’s not about the flowers but about the obsession of the dude over the women.

No, he didnt misread. Its coming to a point that this is becoming borderline insane and delusional. Its what she precisely meant.

I am saying again. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT condone any sexual harrassments and anything near the accusations list, but this? This is insane.
