It’s time to settle those age-old rivalries… in the real world!
Since last year’s meetup was a blast, we’re bringing it back for another round!
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Date: 2nd & 3rd of August 2025
Minimum age to participate: 18 years
Contact: Acrona (Discord: eepox)
Program
Saturday 2nd of August
To kick things off, we’ll meet in the city centre around 13:00 and head together via public transport to an entertainment centre in the city, where we’ll spend two hours 14:00 onwards testing our mettle against each other in a variety of PvP challenges. The entrance fee to this activity is 35€ / £29 per person, and includes access to pool tables, bowling, golf and driving simulators, table games, darts, reaction + speedtest games, and some other fun activities. The venue also has a bar to keep you refreshed and your nerves steady!
Afterward, the meeting will move to a bar or restaurant for the rest of the evening, to eat and drink our foes under the table (to an appropriate extent) and resume the battles through devious card and board games. Whether you’re bluffing your way through Coup or forming alliances that will crumble under betrayal, choose your comrades wisely!
Note: It’s perfectly fine to join only one of the Saturday activities, if you can’t make both.
Sunday 3rd of August
Considering some people might travel a long distance to the event, we’ve traditionally held an optional farewell lunch on Sunday noon in the city centre. It’s usually followed by a spot of walking or shopping such as visiting Fantasiapelit. The Sunday activities usually last from 12:00 until around 15:00-16:00 depending on the weather. If the weather is nice, we could consider having a picnic instead of café lunch.
Depending on interest and weather, instead of the lunch we could also plan a small trip to the Korkeasaari zoo island or similar. I’m not generally a big fan of zoos, but Korkeasaari does plenty of conservation work and also helps a lot of injured wild animals through its wildlife hospital. We can discuss what people would like to do a few weeks prior the meetup.
General Information
Who is this for?
People who play, or used to play, on Argent Dawn. The previous meetups had attendees from many countries, and the meetup language is English. We’re more than happy to see people from abroad join the fun!
In Finland? Why?
Formula 1 Enklish aksent, salmiakki and sauna make for a great experience, but if that isn’t enough, then it’s because yours truly is more comfortable organizing something on their home turf than taking y’all to a beach party in Spain. At present Finland is a safe travel destination, and our summer is short but sweet!
How do I sign up?
If you’d like to attend the meetup, please reach out to me on Discord (eepox), so that I’m able to contact you closer to the meetup date to confirm whether you’re attending or not. You’re only registered to the event once you’ve reached out on Discord. Please include your main character on AD in the direct message, and which activities you’d like to join (e.g. Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening, Sunday noon). This will help me look for venues of suitable size for the Saturday evening and Sunday noon activities.
A few weeks before the meetup a temporary Discord server is made for the people confirming their attendance. Joining the Discord server is mandatory to a) make sure everyone agrees on the event’s code of behaviour, b) exchange real time information, c) help the event go smoothly for everyone during the weekend. People who have to cancel, or don’t show up at the meetup, will be removed from the server.
If you’re coming from abroad
Compared to many other capitals, Helsinki is a rather compact and easily navigable city. With the train connection from the Helsinki airport to the Central Train Station, it’s convenient to get to the heart of the city in just half an hour. The Central Train Station is the last stop for trains going to Helsinki from the airport. More information on public transport: https://www.hsl.fi/en/travelling/visitors/airport-train
Please use the blue ticket vending machines for the metropolitan public transport tickets, instead of the green VR ones (railway company).
People in Helsinki are usually pretty good at English, so you shouldn’t have much difficulty communicating at shops or service points. There’s a lot of hotels, restaurants, bars and cultural attractions within walking distance from the Central Train Station.

If you have any questions about the meetup, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I know the concept may sound intimidating if you’ve never attended something like this, but as someone who has attended many of them in the distant past, and also hosted some of my own, they’re largely super chill. Personally I’ve made many great contacts from these events, people whom I’m still in touch with many years later regardless of whether they still play the game or not.
Here you can take a look at last year’s event and our pre-pandemic meetups for some inspiration as you consider joining in on the action. This marks the 7th gathering that I have the pleasure of organizing, and I’m looking forward to reunite with old friends and welcome fresh adventurers into the fold!
Come for the fun, stay for the rivalries, let’s make some fun memories face to face!
