Alliance like really more RP than Horde?

It’s a fact, contrary to the Horde, Alliance is crowded on RP realms.
I would like to have your opinions for what are the reasons to chose Alliance on RP realms.
What do the Alliance roleplay more than Horde to explain that difference of population ?
Playing a RP Horde character is enjoying too.

Thanks for your opinions.

My guess is that a lot of people enjoy playing the classic fantasy races like humans/dwarves and soon high elves and the Alliance aesthetics appeal more to them than those of the Horde races?

Also, Alliance on Argent Dawn seems to have more random roleplay. If you want to go Horde, you’re best off joining a guild. Alliance allows you to meet random people in hubs more reliably.

Pretty races.

Most people RP humans, so that means alliance. Even on the horde side, the most populated race are, surprise surprise, belfs, which are the most ‘human-like’ race.

People have argued why this is for, well, for as long as RP was ever a thing. I think that most people RP what they know best or what they would like to see themselves without differing too much from their own self-image.

Tabletop games are no different. Most popular D&D race? Humans. Dozens and dozens of races to choose from, but still, humans. Followed by elves…

I’ve always found humans really boring in RPGs, like, why be a normal human when there are wolfmen, or hulking minotaurs, fox people etc.

Humans

That’s literally it.

People are drawn to defaults, it’s why ‘Human Male Warrior’ will always be one of the biggest populations in any setting that allows for it.

In D&D’s case, usually because they’re decently high powered and flexible for most every builds while other races are more specialised.

I think on AD humans+NElves together outnumbered the Horde entirely but realmpop seems to have been broken by blizzard so getting proper census data these days is difficult.

Yeah cant speak for DnD but like, other rpgs i have played, i tend to go for the more animal like races. Just find them cooler.

Most people I’ve known on Argent Dawn have nearly always played both factions at some point or another; many jump between fairly regularly, or play mains on both factions.

As it’s been said above though, elves and humans will always be the most popular races. That’s not a bad thing – humans are, to me, still a very cool race and they can only really be compared to real world people in appearance.

Their culture and society is very little like the modern world and it plays on a lot of quintessential magical and knightly fantasy, which are very popular themes.

Someone: “Let’s play pretend! You can be anything you’d like to be!”
Dave: “Then I’ll be myself, but more handsome, adored and powerful.”

Sounds about right, yep.

I’ve moved here from a Horde majority RP(PvP) server. Imo people here are just strange!

You can live in a castle, or in a warrior society’s city of various different races.

Castle

Okay, uh, you can be a knight, a summoner, a dark magic user, an undead warrior, a stealthy rogue, or even a wizard.

Knight

Well, there’s also all sorts of mounts you can ri-

Imo, horde is where the fun truly is.

For me, it’s probably because Alliance RP feels easier to get into as someone who is relatively “new” to the community. I’ve played on AD for years on-and-off, but have always been quite shy about engaging with others for roleplay. However, it becomes a bit easier to join in when you see so many people roleplaying/random RP sprouting up very often.

I’ve heard people say that Horde RP on AD is more guild-focused, and that random RP is less common. For me as a newbie, this felt a bit daunting because I wasn’t sure how I’d even find a guild that would be my cup of tea. That being said, I would love to RP on the Horde side, (particularly as a Goblin because they’re one of my favourite races).

This is just your own preference, in truth both side offer different flavors of RP.

Any human rper that refuses to use a horse refuses to be human.

The human chivalric knight astride a warhorse is the kinda Arthurian fantasy that gets me going

For me it’s just been a matter of familiarity. I started WoW as an Alliance character, on a whim. Following that, I did a lot of PvE and quests and tried out many classes. Even did some raiding for a while. By the time RP become of interest, I had spent a lot of hours getting to know the Alliance world. Their races, cultures, quest lines, locations.

Therefore, my reasoning for not trying Horde later is simply because I do not see myself diving into the game as much now days. I’d feel lost. Sure, I could do some quests and leveling in WoW again, try to familiarize myself with Horde lore and culture, but why would I? Game is not as fun to me as it used to be. I don’t really feel like it has any replay value to me. These days, I’d rather spend that time on other games or things. So any time I do spend in WoW, mainly revolves around RP.

I will say, however, that some Shadowlands stuff looks appealing so I may in fact try some Horde experiences next expansion.

Idk if this is general, but most people I know remained on Alliance because they just chose that initially. Because they wanted to do Alliance, they picked a server with more Alliance and therefore spent a lot of time playing there… Maybe that’s what kept happening? There is imo no reason related to the Horde itself in terms of its races and lore. I think both sides have very nice stories and races.
