Please consider allowing players to choose which engineering helm they want to create, rather than only have the one option that was designed for their armor-type; so mail in the case of elemental shamans.

Of all caster dps classes, elemental shamans are the ones that takes the fewest items to reach hit cap with, due to our talents.
Items with hit on them have less stats than items of same item level that don’t have hit on them, obviously. So it’s in our interest to side-step items with spell hit when possible.
I’m not asking for a discussion about why our items are designed so that we run around raids with an absurd amount of excess chance to hit. I would rather simply propose that for Burning Crusade classic, engineers would be allowed to choose which of the many engineering helms they want to make, so that they could choose the one that best compliments the stats they are getting from their other items.
