I’ve been raiding with a stable raid team since MoP launch more or less. But the huge hurdle we have had is Amber Shaper Un’sok…
We know exactly what needs to be done on the fight, but we’ve found as we gain more and more gear the more and more RNG the fight seems to rely on. To the point we’ve been hard-stuck on Amber Shaper for at least 5 weeks.
Now of course, you could all reply to this thread with “Get good” and the like. But for some reason, the RNG has just seriously hindered us the whole way through. To the extent that on tomorrow’s session of “Bashing our heads on the wall in vain” we’re going to have only the tanks damage the boss in P1 to stack the debuff high, and then lust nuke at 70% amber scalpel to cheese it.
I hate to be that guy, but is there really no change that could be made to make the fight less RNG? Less BS? Hell if it was possible to make the Monstrosity explode more often that’d make the fight WAY more accessible.
TL;DR: Hard stuck Amber Shaper to the point that raiders have quit, now relying on shaky pugs and I fear for recruitment prior to ToT release. As GM it’s hard motivating everyone.
There is nothing RNG about this fight.
Get your raiders to download the Foji WA pack it gives audio warning about what to do when in a construct.
If people can’t learn after five weeks how the construct works it’s bench time.

Not quite sure what you mean with RNG. But I guess one thing that’s bothersome when progressing this boss is that you can easily have 30+ pulls and not see the construct mechanic even once. Videos and external minigames in all its glory, but I feel these kind of mechanics are something you have to learn by trial and error inside the actual game.
With that said though, yes I absolutely dread this boss. Not necessarily because it’s one of the more demanding bosses this tier, it’s because I personally have a strong dislike to vehicle combat in this game. It just doesn’t work in any shape or form imo, and especially not in a raiding environment. It’s not fun, it’s not engaging and just plain annoying. So I dread this boss for the exact same reason I didn’t enjoy bosses like Malygos and Flame Leviathan. And I will praise the day HoF is over and I no longer have to do it.
If you are 10 man (the harder mode) you can get bad rng like one healer getting the construct and the other gets a parasite but I dunno, at this point every fight is a push over with the level of gear.
10 or 25? Normal or heroic?
Anyway 25 heroic here. We use 3 tanks to keep stacks both on boss and construct and to transition boss into phase 3 where he just mets under BL and those stacks.

Tell your dps/healer to not spam “1” while in little construct untill boss casts explosion (he also casts throw do not try to interrupt it) and after first cast they can spam “1” on CD

the second task is not to forget to self interrupt little construct blast with “2”

and exit as soon as raid gets little construct to 20% hp with “4”
You can still use 1 to apply more stacks to the boss or construct, just make sure you hold it when the construct is gonna blow so it’s not on CD for that.
But you can just not do that, play safe and get the kill every time.
Minmaxing a boss if you’re struggling on farm is the dumbest way to kill your guild.
As long as people hold their 1 so it’s not on CD for construct it only makes the fight easier.
