Its very true. When you eventually leave school and your basement.... and get a partner. Just try it.

No point marriage institute is degrading in modern society with a terrifying speed.

You're comparing the customer - service provider "relationship" that I have with a faceless corporation with the intimate, involved relationship that I have with my significant other? Were you perhaps dropped on your head when you were a child?

I complain because a few months ago I was playing a game I genuinely enjoyed. Then Blizzard took all the crap we hated (Hi RNG) and multiplied it with Azerite armour and breaking classes that had no real problems, so I'm unhappy with what I'm paying for (my sub runs out this weekend).

What I do during the lulls is level alts
The gaming equivalent of watching paint dry - but I'm the one who doesn't leave the basement lol.
I was playing a lot during the first month, but after seeing blizzard not caring about the things i care about such as faction balance, warmode balance, viable pvp casters and possibly nerfed raid loot chances, i know i would be just waiting my time so i usually login for a few seconds, remember how things are now, logout and go to swtor where classes are fun and you can enjoy 1v1s
.

My IRL friends that had come back are all gone except one that is still playing. However, I do know quite a few people in-game that do play, but the drop in activity is noticeable to me. When I log in SC2 to play and check the friends list, I see maybe 10-15 friends playing WoW, while 2 months ago it was 40+.

Awesome you play SC2 do you know any online guides on how to be a good terran player or some overall pvp Strategy guides?.

You think than wining all the time doesn't have an effect on the WoW dev team? They are jst a passionate about WoW's success as the players.
Constructive critisism with helpful suggestions I'm sure are welcome, nagging isn't.
Post on your guilded main if you want to be taken seriously.

It really feels odd, that the best experience and fun you get out of this game comes from previous expansions. I usually tend to keep up with the gear and raids, but this expansion I can't be bothered at all.

I just farm mounts, do island expeditions, gather Legion mythic transmogs and try to twink up my lvl 111. Goal for the expansion is to get the ah dino mount... What a weird goal to have for an entire expansion.

There is absolutely nothing of interest at Max level.

I'd say keep the conversation going. If you're just never going to mention what you don't like than you can't be mad at your partner for keeping on doing what he/she is doing.

You can ask what's going on, you can even give helpful pointers. Their horrible behaviour may even have been initiated by yourself, you never know if you don't talk about it. You cannot do better when you don't know what to change.

If you're going to keep quiet and hope that makes the problem go away then you will just grow apart. Trying to solve things together is the key. Even if that is started by moaning about the other person, it's better than to keep quiet.

The problem is blizz is seriously running out of time to salvage BfA. Cods just landed with the BR mode that every ones loving at the mo. Red dead 2 which is hyped like mad just landed.

New battlefield in 2 and half weeks. That's alot of very top quality games out, that will last till next year.

Shhhhhhhhh Don't say Don't say!

The myth must be preserved, wow has no concurrence what so ever.

Anyone else getting the feeling that alot of people stopped playing?

1). I'm sure a lot have but I'm not concern because what video game I like (use that term loosely with this expansion) playing is not dependant on them.

2). You seem confused as to why your "friends" stop playing, which shouldn't be the case if they actually were your friends.
I know why my friends stopped playing but as i stated im not interested in spreading doom and gloom so i was honestly curious if my small sample size of friends leaving wow this early in an expansion was just a fluke or something more people are experiencing aswell.

I've not heard anyone say anything about those games...which is telling of the type of players wow attracts.

Obviously some care about those games...i'm not one of them but some do.

The games you mentioned though are all transient games, you play you finish up you move on, maybe revisit from time to time but they aren't games that keep you for long like an MMO does.

You can always check liquipedia, they have really great resources for SC2 (https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/StarCraft). But in the end, I can tell you that the only way to improve in that game is to play. A LOT. 1v1, not coop, not 2v2, not 4v4, just 1v1. Then after a session, look at your replays, check for what you did wrong - and always start with the basics, not with fancy stuff: am I building SCVs the entire duration till I reach 66 from my Command Center? Are all my production facilities producing stuff? How long am I supply blocked and why? Am I spending the energy on my Command Centers reasonably well? Do I have addons on my production? Am I doing *something* with my army? Am I constantly trying to scout to figure out what I'm up against?

Because if you map out those things, you are at least a platinum player, and you can then start improving things like better APM/EPM for unit control, more fancy unit compositions, timing pushes, proxy locations...

BTW, I'm also a Terran. :)

This is not intended as a doom and gloom post , however i have never had so many friends leave this early in a wow expansion. Out of the 40 ish people i know that play wow and tend to play at least the first 6 months i got about 7 that still play and all of them are in our premade mythic + group. Anyone else getting the feeling that alot of people stopped playing?

Identical posts every expansion and yet the game still survives... rather well.

The game has always had people who come back at the start of an expansion and then leave shortly after. But there are plenty of people who stick around.

If WoD didn't kill WoW then close to nothing will.

Make 'friends' with people who stick around longer.

i started to get concerned in WoD, then i became majorly concerned in legion i knew they couldn't possibly top legion without giving everyone in game GM powers.

BFA's scale back was inevitable ... that is the honest truth of it, they over compensated with legion and now everyone expects better than legion ... that's pretty much what i gathered from hanging around these forums the last 3 months.

bunch of spoilt manbabies honestly ...

yea i am a leaver.. but i leave not because the game is not any different to legion or WOD .. but simply because i'm too old to keep letting blizzard get it wrong every single time over and over again .. i feel sorry for the younger generation just getting into the gaming scene they are about to be made crack addicts and bled dry.

EDIT: put it this way if i was leaving because of the game i would probably end up coming back later on .. but this time i'm leaving because of blizzard they have lost my trust.

Activity is fairly low , you can see by the number of m+ , pvp , queues .

Or maybe they are doing some old raids and farming pets on some island XD or battle pet , who knows ?

What I do during the lulls is level alts. Currently leveling my blue-elf, taking my time...reading the quests and completing zones 100%, dungeons and BGs on the way. I am really enjoying it and feels totally relaxed...just as a pastime should be.

A lull 2 months after release...is in my opinion not a lull but a more like a complete failiure to keep the player retention.

ppl wanted world of diablo i think it has been staring them dead in the face for multiple expansions at this point. There is a reason ppl quit diablo after about 1 month of gaming.
