Easiest solution would be having separate conduit slots for each spec. So if you change your spec conduits will change to these relevant for spec so you can use all 3 soulbind trees on every spec.
But Conduits are already spec spesific. They are not soulbind spesific however… Would making them soulbind tied solve the meta issue in the end? Unless i Missunderstood you there.
What I mean is that if you change spec you get empty conduit trees so you can put conduits best for each spec and with changing spec you would change conduits automatically
My youtube link may fail here but… Heres what Ion had to say about swapping conduits
‘‘We don’t want you to be able to swap everyday inbetween, But if we’re talking once a week?
That is something we want to accomadate’’ …Basiclly’’ Soo uh yeah. I’m on the team ‘‘that sucks’’ for this one, Since that is the biggest speed pump in my I wanna do PvP/raiding and m+ When I feel like I wanna play that, there is.
i’m at team, Rein in the soulbinds and abilties for specs across content you wanna do.
And dont restrict me with swap limitiations when I want to do said things. I mean the ‘‘meta’’ differences between the abilities and soulbinds are one thing in of it self. But then ontop of that put another restriction? Its a bit far…
Well I did unsubscribe. Not because I dislike the game though. I actually like it. But I dislike the greed of Blizzard/Activision and unless we stop giving them money it’ll get worse.
There wont be any changes until another AAA mmorpg comes out which is good enough to even hardcore wow players leave the game.
Maybe those old guys from original blizz make something good can give some hope. New world is also seem promising, hopefully they handle the game better than Activison WoW now.
WoW as many said, simply on lifesupport now. No new content added for 200+ days, even with pandemic its just way too much.
Oh in that sense, yeah sure.
Certain things are wrong because they are wrong, regardless of a persons opinion.
Some people steal to make a living because they cannot do so otherwise. Theft is still wrong, regardless of that one persons opinion that it’s justified or good simply because it helps him survive. The actual act of theft remains ‘wrong’.
World of Warcraft is an objectively poorly developed game, regardless of anyones opinion. Just because you’re able to have fun in it and that it’s playable doesn’t mean that it’s a well developed game.
Nobodies opinion on the game will change the fact that World of Warcraft does not meet the industry standard of what ‘good game design’ means and despite (sadly still) being the leading MMORPG when it comes to active players it is most definitely not an example to follow of what an MMORPG should be like.
Alright here are a few criteria on which you could judge a game
-
PvP viability
PvP is utterly unplayable right now. People one-shot each other left and right, leaving little to no counterplay. Casual pvp? what’s that? There’s little-to-no incentive to get in to rated PvP and why is there STILL no solo queue yet? -
Class design
Class design is just sad. Many core abilities that should be baseline are talents instead or entirely absent from the game and many abilities do not function as they should or are just poorly designed in general. Many classes are being forced in to a play style that is nowhere close to their original or limit the player so much that only one play style is viable (2-handed Enhancement says Hello). In fact in many cases previous expansions’ iterations of specializations are far more fun to play than what they are now which begs the question why they were redesigned in the first place. -
Meaningful player interaction
There isn’t any. At best players are forced to play together to clear certain content but it’s not exactly a meaningful or fun experience unless you’re in a guild with friends you already knew. Outside of that there’s no real reason to play with people or to make new friends. -
Low Level Experience
Near non-existent as you’re encouraged to rush past everything and hit endgame as soon as possible. There is almost no character progression nor customization. Gear does not matter while leveling. There is no reason to do PvP while leveling either as the experience you gain in it is often too little to be worth your time and the PvP too unplayable to be fun. Professions…? Why should I bother picking them up again…? -
Gearing process and Stats
Every single item in the game has the same stat distribution as another item of the same ‘type’: [Gloves/Belt/Boots/Shoulders], [Chest/Legs/Helm], [Rings/Neck], which makes all gear incredibly monotone and beyond boring. There are no items currently at endgame that stick out as being interesting with the exception of maybe a few trinkets, as those are all different from one another. I don’t even know, I can’t think of any specific Shadowlands trinket right now. The gearing process itself is mind-numbingly boring. As PvE you just spam M+ until you hit a certain item level and then you get in to raiding. As a fresh lv60 you’re absolutely useless in PvP until you hit at least 20-25% versatility at which point you can start beating people in 1v1 fights of which there are very few. You can’t really get in to rated until you’ve got 25-30% versatility -unless you enjoy getting steamrolled- which takes a rather long time because you’ve got a conquest cap to fill which you can… again… only fill by actually doing said rated content where you can’t actually win because you’re too weak. You only gain around… what, 500? 600? …conquest per week from non-rated content, which is not enough to buy most pieces of gear for. -
Maintenance of pre-existing content
Oh boy don’t get me started on this one. Lots of amazing content has been “revamped” or has been removed from the game entirely (Hello Mage Tower, Challenge Modes) for no good reason at all or has just been forgotten about. There are hundreds of amazing items removed from the game resulting in a metric ton of unobtainables that are ‘rare’ simply because Blizzard re-vamped their source to a higher level and dumped the old version in the trash because they happened to have planned content get scrapped during its design phase due to time shortage and needed a raid to fill in that new hole with (ZA/ZG/Onyxia/Old Naxxramas, anyone??). This is incredibly bad for WoW because, due to the Achievement and Transmogrification system, this game has largely become a ‘collect-em-all’ game. You can’t, however do so and if you’re a new player just coming to the game now then don’t even bother because all the good stuff is long gone. There are a thousand ways to make old content relevant again as well as fun but Blizzard clearly doesn’t really care about that as they try to focus only on whatever they deem is ‘current expansion’ and rather has 95% of the game’s world be obsolete and useless despite said old content being much loved by players – until of course they have to scrap planned content once more and turn to an old raid that happens to fit the theme of the expansion to revamp again. -
Phasing technology
Initially intended to bring a more balanced player density to the world – filling older empty zones with players once more and regulating overpopulated realms by separating the population in to groups to reduce the stress on the servers and thus reduce lag. This abomination of a system however more often than not nowadays ends up making it so that all zones that aren’t current expansion are pretty much empty as there are far too many phases for people to be in and far too small of a population density to fill them all.
Are these topics specific enough for you to judge this game on or should I continue? because I could go on for a loooooooooong time.
Also do not forget that none of the above is actually based on my “opinion”, they are objectively bad design choices.
That would be what is called an “Addiction”.
That is not how opinions work. Opinions are neither true nor false. They are a persons personal feelings and thoughts towards a certain subject. Said feelings and thoughts may be based on facts or they may not be which may make one opinion more valid than the other but in the end they are opinions still.
Facts however are not subject to your feelings and are always true, nomatter how you may feel towards them. This would be the case with the above points that I have brought up and them being objectively bad game design.
It matters not how either of us may feel about them they will always have a negative effect on this game.
While I agree with most things you said I’d say that PvP is playable and when playing vs equally geared people most of these one shots can be prevented but since gearing in PvP is a joke you have to respond with one extra cd to the enemy cd and the whole idea of learning and improving is killed. Literally I can take current season with all balance issues and still enjoy it way more than last two expansions but I need PvP gearing that is more fair with lower ilvl difference. Most PvP players just want 1 honor and 1 conquest gear. Screw it - it might be even 20 ilvl less than raiding gear in PvE but make it easy to get the best gear in PvP and SL will be the best expansion in terms of PvP since WoD. The reason why gear should be easy to get is to make people enjoy balance changes. Imagine my friend mained R Druid but since it was bad early and Paladin was the only good healer he made H Pala. When they buffed Druid he instantly switched but it was very bad experience gearing it that he was on edge of giving up.
Prevent this.
Edit: Look at any of the other clips on that channel and tell me again that PvP is “fine vs equally geared players”.
It is nerfed already and these guys made mistake of stacking:
-if healer wasn’t in CC he could dispel dps so he responds to Paladin CDs with their own
-they could trinket wall
Basically vs Ret you have to respond with two cds to his big offensive go (Seraphim, big wings, Pelagos buff, Final Reckoning) and as Ele I press Astral Shift and Battle Master trinket. If I do it as soon as he pops cds I survive 10/10 times. That’s my point. Clip was done before Divine Toll nerf and while it is way too much damage you can survive it as any class. The thing here is that these guys messed up stacking getting tripple blinded. Not going to lie that the idea that Blind shouldn’t break on Holy Damage is stupid.
There’s more recent clips of other completely broken sh*t plus Mes did the same but on 7 players or something only two weeks ago in RBGs. He solo wiped enemy team.
Yes but Mes get Berserk buff and builds team around buffing him. Like getting all damage modifiers. I can guarantee that in 3v3 arenas on high level it happens not that often. If someone plays well he can avoid it but since we are only humans we make mistakes and die. I agree Ret is broken but there are a lot of things you can do to survive it’s burst. He is still favoured but it’s not impossible to win against.
There’s still tons of other broken stuff in the game man, my ilv200 rogue deals 35k damage in opener on a decently geared target. You can’t make this stuff up xD
Is defending Shadowlands PvP really where we’re at now ?
but here you are talking about an action, not an opinion there is a difference.
nope it is not poorly developed, it is very developed both in lore(it is a great world they have made lore wise(no matter if you agree or disagree to the actions taken by charactors in the lore)), gameplay is a fine tab target game, now balance I think should have gone a different way to balance but the desine philosophy behind this burst heavy balance is an option and it does fix one of the pvp problems from the end of bfa with very long games.
so you need to set a series of preramiters for saying it is not a great developed game, the story is great(no matter if you like it or not it is a greatly written story with the mess they had to work with from bfa)
what is the standard? you are trowing a lot of air around without saying anything at all other then you not liking wow and therefor it is a fact it is bad, it does not work like that sorry.
solo-que does not work simple as that.
the once doing some random battlegrounds when they fell like it? just for fun like i do sometimes.
most things in pvp has some form of counterplay just not every class can counter every other class, but i dont peronally like how much burst is in pvp now but that is personal.
dont really agree there.
again i dont agree, i will agree that some specs really could use a redesigne but even if blizzard wants to do that it would take some time to change stuff like that.
so you are talking about something that was not viable since forever for shamans(they can still use 2-handed weapons but no ability will work with it), but classes makes small changes all the time(over time that can be major changes) and rarly totally change a spec
would like to know witch expansions, as mop was so totally bad for classes with the 100 different macros just to take 1/3 of your abilitys into play.
but ofc there have been other designes some might find more fun im not saying there is not but it was so fun to heal in pve as a shaman back in the day, make sure totems are down, elemental shields are running and then chain heal, chain heal and guess what is next yep chain heal, oh the tank is close to dying lets pop that macro for instant greater healing wave and back to chain heal, remember totems and elemental shields(aka earth shield on the tank) and the totems each 5 min.
yep it was great fun, totally not being sarcastic here.
same is true in every other mmo i have played heck it was also true in classic.
that is on you, i like to pvp sometimes when i level a new toon, because i find it fun, though most of the time i get my behind handed to me but im still having fun.
to some degree i agree that gear is just stat sticks and every close to each other and monotone, with the exeption of a few trinkets but nothing really of value but that is all.
that is a matter of opinion.
the phasing tech is not great but it is not as bad as you make it sound.
and each of those is a matter of opinion i for one like how the old content is now, you dont.
no the above point is your opinion of the desinge not facts about the designe, get your things streight, a fact is a fact no matter who says it, the earth is round and that is a fact proven trough science and earth has a pull around 9.82 m/s^2 towords it center of mass(it goes up and down a little depending on where on earth you are and how far up in the atmosphere you are but the viation is small when talking in general terms)
then state some, so far you have gone with opinions disguised as facts, that does not make them facts.
now im not saying wow pvp is in a great place, as also said the burst meta or the share amount of power put inside the cd’s compared to outside is just way to high in my opinion, they should take 20% of the burst of a 5-6min fight and place that in sustained over a 5-6min fight instead that would help a lot in my opinion.
Making bad game design decisions is an action. It is a conscious decision that you decide to make. Same thing.
Now I’m convinced that you’re trolling.
I literally cannot explain it simpler than how I did. I’m sorry that you’re unable to follow it.
Provide some evidence of that.
Pfhahaha no.
That’s exactly why there’s no counterplay to many things. You can’t counter something that kills you in a global from stealth.
Must be new here then but fair enough.
They literally only just had a re-design. Just by saying that you believe they could use another one already proves that they’ve done a poor job to say the least.
so then… they CAN’T “use” 2-handed weapons…
And it’s not about viability, it’s about possibility. I have no time to explain the difference to you.
How is this literally any different from PvE in Shadowlands…?
Then you’ve never played classic and it’s in fact not true in ‘every other mmo’, if so, give me a real example other than to make blanket statements without any actual argument to back them up with since that’s all you’ve been doing so far and honestly it’s getting somewhat boring to read.
Literally is not on me.
L M A O get out of here.
It literally is that bad.
They aren’t and if you believe that they are then you do not know the definition of “opinion”.
Who am I kidding? Of course you don’t.
Please for the love of god, do a spell-check. You’re already making no sense as-is.
I have, you just don’t seem to know what the word “opinion” means and write everything I say off as such.
Your lack of an education is hardly my fault and I am not going to spend my entire night tutoring you.
no, that you dont agree with the design or decision does not make it bad per say.
nope im not, just dont agree with you
you have not stated any facts just opinions you try to disguise as facts.
because every class has stealth.
not every class has get a new redesigne so not really.
you can equpied it and go hit some mobs with it, now most of your abilitys are locked to 1 handed weapons so they cant be used but it is still an opinion just not an viable one.
so chain heal is out, not really used for starters using difrent ways to spread healing with, healing rain, riptide, primal wave, a talet(dont remember the name), kepping es aktive and using healing wave if there is still need of healing, ofc we still us a healing totem(cloudburst or healing stream depnding on talent) else using flame shock and lava burst and lighting bolt.
so yep a way different set of abilitys used and way more of out toolkit used instead of chain heal into chain heal into chain heal into chain heal and if you are good then you get an extra or two chain heals off.
i did play classic heck this toon when i started back in classic(though only got to early 40’ish before stopping and starting again in tbc and got to 70 there), and the wast majority there was done alone, maybe some banter in general or some other channel, looking for a dungeon and staying silent most of that dungeon, so not much interaction there if not in a guild, ofc there where the outliners where there where interaction but that is the outliners and they are still in wow to this day.
and guess you missed the part with I HAVE PLAYED, the once i have played there was not really much use for interaction with anyone else then guild mates as it was not needed.
nope, it fixed a lot of problems it then bought some new problems with it though.
or you dont know the difference.
here let me post a link :
https: // letmegooglethat. com/?q=opinion+meaning
nope you, you have stated how you think it is about the points you gave, now I could agree to the points or not but it is nothing but your opinion about the points.
PvP in WoW isn’t what the dyed in the wool PvP player is looking for… but it’s the PvP that the game deserves; in that respect I would also suggest that those that don’t like how it gets structured could do worse than ‘find another game’.
I never did get on all that well against other players in any game, but I wholeheartedly agree that anything you don’t like, you should just forget about & move on.
I kept my own opinion out of this entire conversation. You insist on calling everything “my opinion” because apparently your grasp of the English language is rather poor.
They are facts. Again, It’s hardly my fault that you do not understand what the word “Opinion” means.
I’m pretty much done with this conversation now tbh.
You should be awarded a medal for missing the point.
Again, that is besides the point.
Dear lord I’m so done with you. I’ve never met somebody this stubborn in his ignorance.
Meaning that the entire system in general ended up doing nothing to improve the over-all situation.
Just because you know how to google something does not mean that you understand the concept. You’re a perfect case-study.
No u
I don’t enjoy PvP, but nowhere do I see an option to choose to not pay for that aspect - you are 100% ONLY paying a subscription to access the game servers to play the game; you pay for the content to run on your PC ONCE… when you buy the Expansion Pack.
That said; if you wait long enough you eventually get that game data free, once a new Expansion Pack is released, but I’m (pretty) sure that only applies IF you maintain a regular subscription.
… or traded in at the local game trading shop where you live.
I would offer that @Trelw - like myself - may have a tendency to read literally & have a high probability to miss sarcasm (always possible with anything written/read).
