I am incredibly confused with the TBC patch notes regarding arena rating and teams.
On the one one hand they say that “we’re interested in bringing that “teams” feeling back” but then the rest of the paragraph they only talk about your personal rating. No clear mention if there are still gonna be arena teams or if they are moving into full retail system with just personal rating and no team rating.
The wording is so extremely confusing to the point that it seems misleading on purpose.
Can any dev please confirm which is gonna be the case? Arena teams or not?
Can we get some official statement please?
We will only have a personal rating; the only difference with Wotlk classic system is the fact that we start at 1k5 and can reset when paying gold.
Then why did they spend half the post talking about the ‘teams feeling’ if they are gonna remove the teams?
Because Blizzard being inconsistent is in their DNA. Also, they love to disappoint people.
It is precisely to confuse you into thinking there is some sort of “team feeling” left instead of outright announcing “we are removing team play, personal rating only from now on.” It’s literally just corporate speak.
I hate that you’re probably right, that is also my instinct. If that is the case, they are just outright misleading everyone.
For a team feeling to be there we still need to have arena teams. The original TBC was cool because when you read X team name, you already knew they were tier S players. Being part of a team is so important in TBC, I really hope they don’t destroy that.
