Well, this holy priest is about ilvl 466. I’m happy doing +8’s and maybe trying +10’s every once in a while. Weekly events give everyone a lot of gear. I have some HC Ny’alotha loot from the Mythic dungeon events, did them all on +0.
I’m a low skilled casual. Mostly I just do Normal raid once, and then just fish or whatever. iLvl/inspecting is not a good metric in modern WoW. My gear would let me apply for +15. Skill-wise I’m nowhere near it.
Saw people say “judging” is wrong. You judge people all the time though. Refuse to take a 3rd warlock to your party? You’ve judged and excluded that person for their class. The “need” to have a different class is an excuse to judge. If you truly never judged anyone, you’d always pick the first people that sign up regardless of anything, and just try to do Shrine of Storms +15 with 3 Demo locks ilvl 410.
I’m going to judge an ilvl 380 feral druid queuing for a +10 -> unprepared, decline.
However, Rio actually helps. a 440 ilvl for +10, normally a no. Rio tells you their main’s score is 1,9k. Thanks to Rio, they’re in. You can assume they know how to play. Lo and behold that 440 wipes the floor with the 455 dps.
You anti-Rio people just need help understanding how socializing in games works. No one owes you anything just for existing. No one enjoys being forced to do things for you “or else you’re toxic”. I’m sure all the Rio-banning OPs wouldn’t like it either if you had to take every freshly dinged 120 with you, and solo the dungeon as a tank for the next 3 hours.
Hope this helps, I’m not sure how many more ways it can be explained.
They had exactly the same effects then as they do now. That if you are attempting to do a key on time or push it that you want capable people. It is always a risk taking on strangers in pugs but you can reduce the risks when you can see what experience they have.
Anyone can push their score if they want to. You do not have to be a ‘no-lifer’. There is no requirement to buy boosts. You can push your own keys with any group of people you see fit, you can do them with friends, guildies, communities or random strangers. If you want to take the first Tom, Dick and Harry that apply regardless of their experience then you can do that.
People seem to feel they have a right to be invited to every key that they apply to. It’s the person running the group who has the right to invite whoever they deem fit. You are not the only person applying to that group, most will wait and see what selection of applicants are available and choose from the list accordingly. Sometimes you get declined because your score is too high and they think you will just leave if the key isn’t going to get timed or there are mistakes.
Time spent in game is not equal to their skill level either. As Deja tried to explain previously there are people in the same gear as us doing far higher keys. I wouldn’t expect any +20 group to take me when I have so little experience or success rate in them. However any +15 I apply to is pretty much insta accept. The addon shows them my score and that I’ve completed around 99 +15s on time. I’m a pretty safe bet to take to a group. I don’t care about timing it either because I don’t need any score for that dungeon. I already have it.
They said that. We upped our arsenal and so did they. They just couldnt continue doing encounters like in classic (even without addons the fights are laughable). Ofc they could have disabled addons in general but given how players embraced them as a way to modify the game how they wanna play it (tbh the blizz UI smelled like butt in the beginning for instance, and thats putting it nicely. Now its fineish but still a matter of taste) flat out banning them would have caused an uproar.
And how? Archimonde Mythic wouldnt have been possible without the radar considering how the beams worked on mythic compared to lfr/norm/hc.
That is something we can properly discuss as it is an opinion i can understand.
Then it’ll just be something else. M+, raiding, arena, RBG, pet battle teamfights or whatever, as soon as people have ro relie on each other for something competitive, they’ll do what they can to minimize that liability, often times without considering or to compensate their own.
If you ban RIO, then the next thing will likely be an achievement displayer or even custom achievements.
Dont like it, dont play it. Voila, problem solved.
Oh, but you want your weekly chest, right? Progress the rio ladder, anyone can climb it. The only limiting factor for how high you can climb is you yourself. I think most players can get to a +15 level, but not overnight, its a process, especialy if you starting at the bottom.
Actually I’m not fussed, I don’t really play anymore but from what I see there’s 2 sides to the RIO community here and those threads get very toxic very quickly for both the for and against sides, You all act like children who can’t play nice together so Blizz should probably take it away it would be for the best.
I’m just waiting for my account to end atm, like I said I don’t play anymore I just like to keep up with the forums and from what I’ve seen in the threads, it’s not playing nicely and I won’t name certain individuals who come off as extremely horrible and elite.
Should ban it, if people start playing together the game will be more fun, having addons tell you some stats from a website and make this what the game is about is trash made for and by people who stopped being a gamers and just want stuff.
You’re right, people don’t enjoy games like they used to and the term gamer is very loosely applied nowadays, I see the game is no longer for me as it’s grown too competitive between friends and I have family/job can’t be bothered having a second job one is enough I’d rather stick to single player games from now on.
No thanks, my rio isn’t even that high because I really just do few M+ every week these days and then play something else meanwhile waiting for SL. With that being said, I’m still completely fine with that system. There are players who have higher rio, players who have lower rio than me and that’s fine. When I got over 2.3k or so I started getting invited into the groups regularly even as DK and it didn’t even take that long to get, you just need to try and actually do something to get some score to start with, and not wait for everything to be handed to you.
Like when I see people who are crying about rio, it’s usually people who don’t bother with even trying to run some M+ in the first place. What do you guys expect? To be carried by your ilvl? Your ilvl is useless if you’re getting one shotted by the mechanics don’t you get it?
Rio is a great system, it has some flaws but this is much better than nothing. What I’ve seen when playing my alts, like damn. People wiping to basic stuff on +10s and so on, and these people then cry about why they don’t get accepted to +15 with their zero score. Why do you blame people for wanting a smooth run? There’s a huge difference in running a key with average 2.5k rio group and some randos who hate rio and don’t know most of the dungeons.
We don’t have to play together nice. And your idea is ridiculous. I can see the headline “Corporation removes successful feature because people disagree”.
People are crying like babies about this, it’s a necessary evil. You can’t get rid of it, it’s a part of the game to filter players. It will always happen and it won’t go away. Now stop crying about it or play something else.
Like I said I didn’t want to name names but you’re one of the frequent… hmmmm how can I put this politely sod it there’s no way of putting it politely in your case but you are one of the problems of this community, not the solution.
And your mom attitude was so constructive. “If u don’t play nice I take your toys away”
How about you look in the mirror at the reactions you provoke. I know what reactions I provoke and I’m fine with it. If you see not pandering to entitled whiners as a problem, thats alright.
