Classic wow was magical. The world was large, slow, and meaningful. Items had wacky designs and passives. Progress felt rewarding. There were tons of opportunities to troll. Basically speaking, classic was a wild-west type of environment with few systems restricting it. TBC was a downgrade, but still had fun activities to offer.
And then wrath of the wotlk arrived. Berny has played wotlk of the lich king back in the day + in private servers. This expansion is, without a doubt in Berny’s believes, the worst expansion ever; with only shadowlands being nearly as bad. No other craftworld version is as empty or boring.
Wrath of king lich is a raid-logging and afk expansion. The world is empty and irrelevant, dungeons are obsolete, and everybody can teleports or fly; thus removing any interaction with the world. Nostalgia blinds those who seek to relive their first wow moments.
Instead, Berny will go play a real game like World of Warcraft: Dragonflight®
………
And Yes! Berny’s gold is up for grabs. 140k + - spread on Firemaw EUW horde and Ashbringer EUW horde. First 5 whisperers will get 30% / 25% / 20% / 15% / 10% each.
I honestly can’t seem to get rid of stuff to do while not raiding.
I’m having a lot of fun leveling on alts and re-experiencing Grizzly Hills and Zul’Drak, if anything I would wager that having to fly to the instance gives more opportunities to interact with other players in zones. Just the other day I helped some guys with lady Ice shriek in the Storm Peaks while flying to Halls of Lightning.
Have fun in Dragonflight though, I hope you get to play a game that you enjoy!
That simply isn’t true, unless your focus in the game is simpl:y ‘Eat, drink, sleep, live, die raiding, more raiding, even more raiding, nothing but raiding, and raising is all there is, and all there ever will be’.
Like Aeslyn above I’ve got so many things to keep me busy in the game that I couldn’t possibly do them all even if I had time.
I sorta miss world events being relevant, that is world bosses/world pvp areas, that drew people somewhere.
I mean for world pvp that is what wintergrasp was supposed to be, but that is instanced. And grizzly hill zones just offer blue questing gear so nobody cares about venture coins. No boss spawns either.
Everything is magical, when experienced for the first time. The world wasn’t large, it just felt like that because moving around took hours, until you got your epic mount and had all flight paths, at this point it just felt like teleporting around. Meaningful? Well, no. Vanilla itself had no real meaning or direction.
It was wild west for the classes that were king in Vanilla (i.e. mage, rogue). Every other guy was just a walking one-trick-pony or buff/healbot. Not my definition of fun.
No, it’s just that a 2008 game can’t satisfy standards from almost 2023. Did you go back to Pong when your friends played SNES in the early 90s? No.
You can get a 95% games magazine rating game from 20 years ago and make people play it today and they’ll say it’s garbage.
Berny had no such games. Kid Berny was super poor and was happy to have friends let alone a game :((((((
Berny played wrath in 2008 and 2009. Berny hated wrath back then too. There was nothing to do other than raid or arena. Basically world of boxcraft. World of do nothing and pretend to be happy craft. World of do raids/arenas because everybody else is doing them and never get to experience anything fun craft. Berny followed like a sheep back then! Berny learned. No more! Pandaria will save classical.
