Best blacksmith spec for prot pala in BC and Wotlk

I have read many topic on this, but I am not yet sure, people with better knowledge, can you please help me out?

For TBC I would be more for armor spec, since you need a high spellpower weapon for tanking and none of the weapons you can craft and use have that. Only the dagger has +dmg and palas can’t equip that, as for WotLK don’t realy know by heart. You can look up all recipes on the wowpedia tho so you can review yourself
