BFD xp Gain

Any clarification on if we should prefarm to last boss and save him or do the entire raid on launch to get the xp? Wording seemed like bulk added on end, but it’s hard to tell. This is not something i want to discover when you still insist on having lockouts in the game.

From what I remember its 3k per boss and 5k for the last boss.

The CD for BFD will remain in Phase 2. So if you want to farm exp in phase 2, save the CD that will be updated on the 7th.

Where did you get this info?

Saw it mentioned on a stream or… youtube clip, cant really remember. So take it with a grain of salt. But I think it was confirmed that it should be around 20-25k xp for a full clear.

I have no link. And who ever is unsure by all means dont prepare or do BFD. Makes no difference to me.

Sure, if you are bringing 10 boomkins into a BFD and plan to clear it in 2hrs. But since most runs will do 20-30 mins clears. Its not.

Well… not 100, but I am half way there.

I guess you had a gentile upbringing.

You asked a question, and got a direct answer. There was no hostility, you are simply not right in regards to what you said. Its simple math. Stock gives max xp at lvl 25, which is 10,361. And that includes ALL the mobs and bosses etc etc. Assuming you are doing it at optimal speed so you dont hit lockout, but you also dont waste time. Then in aprox 25 mins you are doing 2x runs. Which comes out to 20,722 xp. Which is still less than what I expect BFD to be from what iv heard.

Now a more realistic expectation is you will be doing Stock w/o a few bosses, not optimal speed, and a run will take you about 15-20 mins. And that will cut down your xp by even more.

So again, me not agreeing is not hostile. You are free to believe or not believe what iv said and do w/e you feel you should.

Words of wisdom.

@Solution you were the hostile one, tbh, you just implied that what he said was bs if he didn’t provide evidence to support what he said (even after he stated “take it with a grain of salt”)

Somewhere over on wowhead are two buffs for bfd one gives 3k xp and one 5k xp.
So it is assumed that all bosses give 3k and akumai 5k.

Running a BFD raid takes at most 30min, most groups will do it in 20-25min.
Thats huge XP/hour if you HS > SW and do Stockade after. All the mobs in BFD will also give you XP but the bosses is where the most XP are ofc.

And due to you needed some proof on what Gottwald said he probably saw it from this video.

Its been datamined btw so like he said:

“i’m just thining going bfd at all is a waste of time, when we need to race for clearing week 1”

There are so many things I don’t understand here.
1- Why do you need to “race”? 6 days to level up 15 levels should be more than enough time, it’s 25-40, not 25-120.
2- Considering you may be implying that people won’t have much time available to play, I still don’t understand the statement, since decently geared pugs clear BFD in about 20min, making the raid average over 1k xp per min, which makes it an above average amount, all options considered and thus, especially good for people who don’t have a lot of time to play (again, also considering guilds can schedule a specific time for raiders to be online and ready, you’re even saving time in trying to fill the raid group).

Unless you have some magic method to speed up that levelling, I don’t see how BFD is a “waste of time”. But if you do have a magic method, do tell!

EDIT: oh and also, if you’re gonna take a long time to level up to 40 (say, 4-6 days) then Gnomeregan will have been cleared for a long time by other people who levelled faster by then, and thus, you won’t need to discover strategies for each boss, just take a few minutes to watch a youtube video and you’ll be done.

Why is this important to “lose out” on gear? You have months of alot of resets to be able to do the raid, missing one lockout will not make or break something.

At the sound of it you seem to be kinda casual players or not “hardcore” players so why even talk about “race” etc, you guys wont be the first to 40 and clear the raid anyone, I wont eaither even if I think I will be in there on the first reset, but if IRL stuff comes up and I cant, it wont bother me.

Thats a good way to look at your guildies. Well done!

And to try to minmax in such a guild sounds crazy to me, you choosed to be in a guild environment like that and its nothing wrong with it, I am in a guild with alot of different ppl myself, from really casual to some minmaxers but we still play and have fun togheter and thats what counts. If we dont have enough guildies up for when its time to do the raid we will just pug what we need. But how you view your guildies is wrong and disrespectfull.

The point i dont understand, with the CD instead of going Zoram from trisfal glade, I prefer to spam SM. For an activity which gives xp every 3 4 days, how can they mention, leveling help… unless you afk you get same xp in any source

Solution is schizo for sure.

Well, if you have 7 lvl25’s like me, raid logging for bfd on the alts sounds nice, both xp and gear-wise.

Well, Blizzard confirmed that the old boxes will give no xp, just the new ones + Marks of Honor give no XP anymore too.

2 things where people who cba to prep can feel better about now.

New boxes? Either me or you have that mistaken, I’ve read or heard that it’s the empty boxes that will be useless, only filled boxes will be turned in, and empty ones have to be vendored.
I didn’t hear about only >new< boxes giving xp o.O You sure about that?

Really sad they announced that only a day before launch and before that they said that the boxes give more xp for the people without quests xD
