Blitz leavers

if I put them on my ignore list, will I still have them on my team ?

Yes. It only prevents them from randomly grouped with you in the dungeon finder system.

Would be nice if we got decide for which Blitz Battlegrounds we could sign up for, or at least let us exclude the ones we hate. It’s always a gamble which screen is going to pop up and it becomes a huge disappointment when it’s one of those you really don’t want to play.

If they make 2 different blitz sure. One rated and one normal blitz where you can exclude.

Why would that matter?

Current version doesn’t have real rating and it’s supposed selling point is allowing people to enjoy playing with a solo queue without a competitive setting in which you need to form a pre-made team. I hardly doubt excluding one of the game modes you don’t like will have an impact.

It’s no different from separating ‘epic BG’s’ from ‘BG’s’

Either way, the alternative that we have now is just leaving when you get a BG you don’t like. It just ruins it for other people with no added benefit whatsoever.

Im not even sure you read what I wrote.
My point were when they make it rated next expansion there shouldnt be an exclusion.
And they can have another “blitz” without rated where you can exclude.

Yes and I’m asking why. What does it matter? Just curious.

I’d be fine with either, just seems more work.

Theres a few dangers with the ability to exclude maps in rated environment.
Making it easier for premades to que up without a group.
Easier for wintraders.
Longer que depending if a map is more “hated” than liked but others might like it.

Its not just “pros” when it comes to changing it in such a way that it becomes easier to abuse for certain types of group/people.

Yeah, that would be understandable. But I do think a point for introducing PvP ‘rated’ Blitzes, was to get the people who don’t enjoy Arena and prefer doing Battlegrounds, back into PvP.

Arena has the same objectives everywhere, killing the other team before they kill you. Battleground has a different objective per battleground.

So it makes complete sense if you allowed people to choose their Battleground based on what they actually enjoy playing.

Aka, that’s what they had to do with Epic BG’s because a part of players fundamentally hated certain maps so very much we got two brackets. The earlier Random Battleground tools allowed you to exclude up to two disliked battlegrounds.

So now you’re still not getting the people who enjoy certain kinds of BG’s, but not all of them.

Either way since, it’s solo queue nobody cares about leaving because you’re not letting anyone down. Be it ‘rated’ or ‘unrated’, so the alternative is people just leaving rated games by the people who don’t care about their rating.

But perhaps that’s still better than people trying to queue sync, I guess.

Makes no sense when it comes to rated, thats the difference. Also why I said they could just “copy” current blitz and make one rated and make one unrated while adding the option to exclude a few maps.

So basically you are already saying alot of ppl will leave rated blitz due to not being able to choose the map? Then I hope those ppl get punished hard and not do it like they did with RSS and just allow it. :person_shrugging:

Like I said, I dont mind if they do it on an unranked blitz since its kinda whatever but I personally want rated blitz to be less ppl solo RBGs.

Solo queue in itself doesn’t make any sense when it comes to ‘rated’ random battlegrounds, hence I consider it a Moot point. IF you are going to accommodate this (‘rated’ solo queue and spawning into a random BG team with random objectives), excluding a map at least makes it available to more people. The ‘credibility’ and thus rewards of the rating based on effort or skill, would not change.

That is just my take, of course.

Ha, then you get the old even worse scenario. People not leaving the BG because of the punishment, but just being present and dragging the entire team down by being afk but not quite.

I am rather curious how they will handle it when the rating actually starts to matter, should become interesting.

Which is called griefing and isnt allowed either.
But they dont rly follow through when ppl grief by actively leaving in RSS so.

I actually dont agree, but we see different on this part anyway which is quite clear, I see more cons than pros with excluding maps or game modes involving rated PvP content.
But there are also times I think too much about cons.

Kinda agree, it will be interesting to see if they will change any of their standings on how punishments should be handled and how they do it against leavers and griefers ^^
