Blizzard cancels a us server connection!

No, this is a sign that Blizzard are afraid of bad publicity. Having a separate realm for LGBQT people is not integration, it’s segregation by definition.

Its because I don’t stand on the side of people just because they have similar characteristics as me, I prefer to look objectively at things which seems to be hard for a lot of people who are a part of some of the big movements that we have today.

Nowadays there are too many people throwing around false accusations and hyperbolic statements in an attempt to get the majority to follow their narrative.

There is that too, its a mix of what we both said imo.

How very dare you, madam…I have no intention of being forced to learn to read and write American.

In all seriousness, it might have been an good idea for Blizz to have recognised that some EU Server’s communities are so heavily biased towards a single non-British European nationality, that pragmatically the decision of connecting them to a low population monoglot British server, was a less than optimal solution.

I would certainly prefer to be a part of a wider community who weren’t in the habit of insulting me just because they have a religious belief of some sort, I would prefer to be part of a wider community that didn’t have people wishing I would die, just because I am being true to myself.
Luckily, I live in north wales and I am now playing on european servers.

Americans don’t have life as easy as I do. a lot of them are being denied the right to go to the toilet. so I think it’s a small thing to ask that when they want to chill out and play a game, they can do so, they can have this one space where they are free from attack… although a good point was brought up about gay men who can be blatantly transphobic. we still have a long way to go I guess.

coming together and talking to each other and being open and welcoming is certainly good, but it’s nice to have that option.

but I don’t have to worry about that. I mainly said “I can understand it”. not necessarily saying I think they should (have dedicated servers). clearly there are arguments for and against. once again, I am privileged enough to not have to worry about this.
I ‘pass’ just fine for the most part and my town is pretty open and welcoming of all types of people.

That would be ideal if people could just get along without any of this happening. I don’t deny that you have had these issues however I still don’t think division is the solution to the issue.

I assume you mean the whole trans bathroom thing over there? America in general is a mess when it comes to stupid things like that.

I agree, but we also need to be looking for solutions that fit everyone and not segregating people.

Once again, looking for a real solution that isn’t segregation is key here.

Yes some are just like other groups of people, however it depends on how you define transphobic because nowadays doing something as little as disagreeing with a trans person can get you labelled as one rather unjustly.

Context is important here.

Yes but it will be worth it to help reduce the issues that trans people face.

Agreed, up until the point of completely cutting yourself off from others.

The Welsh generally don’t worry about who a person is unless that person has bad behaviours.

The main point I’m focusing on is, for people who face a battle every day, a single place of solace in their life makes all the difference.

I agree with most of what you say, except for the part where you seem to suggest that people should face that same battle in their leisure time too.

Agreed but total segregation in an MMORPG isn’t the solution.

No, I suggested that seeking solutions is better than simply separating people. I see the road you’re attempting to go down now so I will stop here.

That’s easy! They don’t read the EU forums at ALL!!!

So basically if it has to do with your sexual preferences they are like: oh wait, we’re not going there: BAIL OUT BAIL OUT. Good to know.

Hyjal isn’t a “large chunk of people”. It’s a Horde-based realm (PM is Alliance) which also has its own flourishing support community. They are just less notorious and known for it. Hyjal is not a server full of trolls.

Edit to say that it’s just sad that people are treating the planned connection as if it would have killed PM. Hyjal players have gone unheard in the whole fiasco. They’re being bundled as trolls who would have invaded the safe space.

Which EU server is LGBT friendly? <3 <3

All of them, If a bad apple isn’t and makes a comment about gay people, Report them. There is no such thing as a bigot/homophobic server. Everyone is the same when playing a game. The few people who might make a comment to you are welcome to go on the same realm anyway, There is no random safety check.

all of them, but friendly means accepting, being chill about it, you know

I’m not sure what the law is like in america but if this is true and they actually said that is the reason, then someone may end up taking legal action for discrimination as they are, in effect treating the group of people in question as a higher class than others.

Can we have a conservative realm in EU?

get enough people of a particular belief and you can inevitably get any kind of realm you want.

I wouldn’t mind a balding ginger big nose guy realm, I would feel more comfortable from the “Large portion of player base” who I’m prejudging before they have opened their mouth but I’m better safe than sorry.

My post is satire before someone takes it 100% serious and tries to imply I’m comparing being ginger to being gay. That’s fairly obvious though.

How would you imagine that?
How would it differ from any other realm?
What rules would you enforce there?

Don’t think he was being serious. He was making a point. The same could be asked about the realm mention by the OP.

Just proves the point that Blizzard doesn’t seem to give a damn about EU players and their issues.
