BM Hunter Pet Bar

The Pet bar has become totally non-interactive when trying to disable pet talents such as growl. How can you break something that has clearly worked for years. No add-ons so that’s not the problem. Are we getting a fix after you so clearly state that Hunters are getting such a huge re-work, and yet this is broken!!

Yes this is happening for me too. I have to open the pet spell book to disable pet talents. Also for me, I tamed 2 more of my favourite pet so I can have him as one of each specializations. Ferocity and Cunning are fine but when I summon the Tenacity one the pet bar completely disappears. I’ve tried summoning them all a few times and it happens every time to the Tenacity one.

Pets were completely broken by this patch. Very disappointing. Can’t use or toggle several pet abilities like growl or shadow walk.

Pet bar just completely disappears if you make the mistake of changing the pet spec

I don’t see the pet bar at all. Its annoying, can’t recall my pets when they chase players across the Battleground, keeping me in combat.

The pet bar does not disappear, it’s just completely empty, you probably have hide empty action bar buttons enabled.

You have to manually drag pet spells from the spell book to your pet action bar because for some reason if you change the pet’s default spec it completely clears the pet bar.

As for unable to toggle pet auto cast it’s broken for all pet users including DKs and locks, so hopefully since it’s not a hunter specific issue it might get fixed in a timely manner.

Until then, you can make a /petautocasttoggle macro like this, for example
#showtooltip Growl
/petautocasttoggle Growl;

Or with which ever spell you want to toggle on to your normal action bar until blizzard fixes it.

Good to know it’s the pet bar that’s broken.

You can toggle the pet spells by dragging them on normal actions bars, if you have the space.

And yes, the bar is just completely empty. Even the “attack, help, follow” buttons aren’t there. It’s really annoying. I was so happy I could finally use my favourite pets as Tenacity for questing again but they are really borked atm :frowning:

They still work just fine even if you don’t put the spells on your pet bar, the pet still functions as normal, so it’s at most a mild inconvenience.

Only thing that is broken is the pet bar right click toggle.

That explains it, I changed my pet from Ferocity to Tenacity. Thanks for the info.

Yes, pet AI still functions.
But you have to use the spellbook or drag spells on the normal action bars to use their full functionality. If you, for example, changed a pet to passive, you can’t change it back to follow your target without those workarounds, because the pet bar is not working. It’s not just the toggle on e.g. growl.

It’s very inconvenient.

Having to put all relevant pet spells/commands on a hotbar is a lot of clutter. I personally don’t have that much space.

EDIT: They hotfixed it, so thankfully the trouble was short-lived!
