I am aware of the Guardian’s Hide bug and have the talent unselected. But pets still sometimes get one shotted by random mobs in Naigtal heroic world tier. My ilvl is 282, and i cast Mend Pet on cooldown, what else am i supposed to do?

Only thing you can do is use a cleft hoof in ferocity for self heal synergy use intimidation on cd and get the talent where if you put MD on your pet it gets a massive damage reduction and use that on cd and pray your pet lives
That’s what i’m doing, but the ambushing elites just kill my pets through cooldowns. I can revive once with turtle (they stun otherwise), but that’s often not enough time to kill them. Most mobs are also immune to Intimidation and other cc, so they need to be face tanked.
Are we supposed to just run away and feign death? What’s the point of the ambushes then? Is heroic solo content only for tank classes?
Well I think the heroic world tier is supposed to be dangerous especially things like ambushes I think the idea is to make you go Oh shoot!
And then try and kite them as a dps or just run away tho if it still one shots through the 50% damage reduction of the no hard feelings talent then something is wrong.
Then again your only 8 ilvls above the recommended minimum ilvl of 274 for HC world tier and pet scaling relies HEAVILY on your gear and stats things like attack power stamina and armor as well as secondary stats.
Around 40-45% of your pets stats comes from your gear so if some of your big armor bits are lower ilvl that could explain some of it too
Having an easier time with my 279 ilvl sub rogue than my 285 ilvl bm hunter (with Faultline). Pet takes manageable damage, and the just gets one shotted out of nowhere from 90% to 0%.
No Hard Feelings has a 5s duration, the elites don’t telegraph their one shots. How is that supposed to work?
Ah, then I guess its just another hunter bug I’m not even surprised anymore
With the state of hunter now i’m not surprised they suck in heroic world tier
Hey. I don’t know if you still have problems with your pets. But I would suggest to NOT use Guardians hide (pet takes your damage), and make sure to take Wilderness medicine (better HoT for pet), Tranq shot (to remove enrage) and the talent for dmg reduction if MD like Kiráah sais, when you are soloing.
With Guardians Hide I feel like with Warlock’s Soul Link, that the numbers are off/bugged and the pets completely flop over most of the time when soloing. I only use that talent for M+ and Raids.
I have a seperate talent setup for my hunter for when I am soloing, and as long as I remember to take these talents, I feel I have a decent time
I know the feeling. Hunter is especially squishy right now. I usually can keep my pets alive by the constant upkeep of “Mend Pet” and using a clefthoof as main pet and its importand to have the cleftfoot as Ferocity. I think its that by default but not sure. Another thing is your ILvL. Heroic Val is demanding. I have ILvL 273.8 and thats hard but that is because I am lower than is required for solo the content. One huge issue is that this build is heavilly dependent on leach and thats a hard stat to raise. The biggest problem though, isnt the pets dying, even if that do happen sometimes. The problem is to let them keep agro, because they are terrible att doing that. I have started to use “Misdirection” again and it have improved their agro a bit.
Something might have changed, my pets are not getting one shotted anymore. The problem where they can’t hold threat remains, but that’s easier to deal with.
well i went to heroic tier only when it was introduced and i cant really say i understand why is it created for those who liked it on remix?
well on remix i could solo anything on world tier on my character, this was not the case on retail, while my pet was not getting one shooted i could handle some mass pulls the game play was not pleasant at all occasionaly was even dying on max ilvl character
so what was the point of heroic world tier and for whom it was created i dont know if max ilvl best in slot cant handle it

Heroic world tier appears to be designed for tank classes first.
