I’ve been playing in HW for few nights now and I can tell you that the community is forming up and more people have started playing in there. I’ve had a chat with few German players who recently transfered there and they already have a german guild on alliance side. Very nice people and I am so glad to have more people showing up.
We use 4. Lfg chat as a “guild chat” / global chat (because we are still very low on pop and it’s rare that anyone is actually looking for a group) and I’ve had few good laughs there. I’ve even changed the chat color to match guild chat color
We still don’t have a working AH, we are working on it, but people are really very helpful and are willing to help anyone with their needs. After all, we are all trying to make the server great again and if we succeed with that, it will be a victory I’ll remember for the rest of my life, being part of something like that
Remove Zandalar Tribe from that list. Allow transfers back. Give FREE transfer TO and not FROM ZT for once. We are not pve players. We want our RP-PVP server. We have a great community and that’s the only thing that keep us in game.
As you know, I wrote a summary of my interaction with Blizzard earlier in the thread.
I was very cautious and reserved (a friend would say: overcautious ), but that has very specific reasons.
However, I think it’s time to share at least part of the message here. Because this Blizzard employee “far above the CM/GM/CS”, was - Aggrend (Wow Classic Game Producer).
Yes, I had sent a message to Blizzard, not expecting to get a response… and then he responded.
Part of the interaction was very directly directed at me and at Celebras, but part of the message was more general. And he also mentioned Zandalar Tribe directly.
Thanks for the heartfelt messages. I see you. You are correct, no RP realm in EU comes even close to what we’d consider to be a healthy realm, and when managing a huge game service like this, we often times have to look at things on a macro scale.
That doesn’t make it sting any less for you or me when some of these decisions impact niche communities. When we originally analyzed realm populations and decided which to close, we were focused on applying the same logic to every realm being examined but regrettably, it initially escaped our notice that RP realms would be completely removed from the EU ecosystem with this course of action. That was quickly pointed out, and we agreed, that a region without a place for RP players to congregate would be objectively incorrect.
That said, it is still very difficult to justify keeping multiple RP realms up at population levels this low, and we ultimately have to make the call that would displace the fewest players possible, and that decision was to leave Hydraxian Waterlords in place and close Celebras and Zandalar Tribe. . I know that this isn’t what you’d like to hear, and I apologize sincerely and personally for that, but I would encourage you to put aside your fears and apprehension and give it a chance.
Blizzard knows we don’t want to leave. That we have a community on our realms.
But this answer, I think was more than final.
I know that’s not what you want to hear.
That’s not what we wanted to hear.
But that’s the reason the Celebras players gave up.
There is simply no one left we could change our minds (and now I’m crying again, thank you. )
And I know you guys have no reason to believe me.
But, for yourselves: don’t get your hopes up too much anymore.
For us Celebras players, it’s EXTREMELY hard as well.
We’ve been besieging the forum for 8 weeks, begging Blizzard to put our realm online. 8 weeks!
We had a community before there was a realm!
We all knew that this realm would be for roleplayers only. Not for the atmosphere leecher, the “I level here fast and make realm first…” just for us.
We all knew that our player count would be low.
Blizzard, apparently, did not know that- we are not enough for them.
The very people who were on the forum then are still on here today…
I recognize names, who joined 2019, and joined 2022 again.
The players, begging for our german RP Realm, were still there.
We also find it all more than easy here.
Change the realm. Give up our home, for which we have already fought so much in 2019.
Press the transfer button (I haven’t done it yet).
Looking for a new home…
Our home is Celebras.
And a PART in me, will not forgive Blizzard the whole thing here either, even if I can understand the reasons.
For this, too much went wrong, even in communication
Edit: I would be willing to give a bit more insight to e.g. Gatorin, who joined me already in our Reddit Thread back then.
I just do not want to do it here.
And Vallinataur, you too - but i never find you ingame… was one of the reasons why i was searching you so much the last few weeks
you deservice to know more
Edit2:
my assumption to the “half open realm transfers”:
The day i send the message, we were discussing the realm transfers. Some HW roleplayers were waiting for the realm transfers and i answered in a way like “I am glad that there are no realm transfers. As long as the transfers are not open, the list is not complete - and there is hope”
The same morning, when i received this message, the transfers from the RP realms (Zandalar Tribe and Celebras) were open.
I sincererly do not think, that this is a coincidence.
And yes my heart is broken.
And i AM crying, in real live…
That is exactly what I thought, too. I never played on HW, but I kind of got the impression from the forum and their discord that they might have been the least populated server out of the three (the other two obviously being ZT and Cele). Or he means something else by displacement, for example RP players on normal realms, and just considers HW the best compromise, which I kind of get glancing over things from overseas. Hard to say, but this part struck me, too.
Ultimately, though, it obviously doesn’t really change anything and I still think the decision to deprive us of our homes is absolutely wrong. I have yet to see a single post of a player from a PVP server being closed saying they want to stay there. And there is literally hundreds of posts (many from the same people, of course, but still) begging for the survival of RP servers. I think, they didn’t “have to” make that call. They chose to. And I will keep taking the liberty to criticize them for this. Still, an interesting thing to ponder. Would be easier with some blue posts in here, of course.
Thank you
You are one of the persons i would talk to, too - i just did not mention you yesterday, i was a bit… upset. (edit: means… i forgot to mention you. Sorry… )
I think, it would be interesting to discuss this message a bit more…
This is one of the reasons, why i did not want to share snippets or the message.
Of course i do not know, but i am pretty sure, that here did not the “Wow Classic Game Producer” answer, but “Aggrend” (of course with the "WoW Classic Game Producers knowledge )
There was no press release team inbetween to check the formulations and so on.
Of course we can discuss it, but always with the “might be a wrong formulation only” in mind.
I would hate to see his kindness backfire on the developers…
You are very sweet and thoughtful (I mean it, no sarcasm), but nobody will get Aggrend in trouble, because half a dozen people discuss part of his message in post 535 of some thread in the eu forum in a really civil way. They won’t care enough. At all.
