Can´t updade

While trying to update Bfa after the reset, i get this warning:

Something went wrong with a file. We’re not sure what caused it, so please try again or click the code below for more information. Sorry about that! Error Code : BLZBNTAGT00000840

Tried everything suggested in the error page (besides reinstall cause im avoiding it) and nothing work.

What may be causing this?

Ty in advance.

Hey Tasselhoff

There are a couple of possible causes for that error, and it pretty much always comes down to a file being kept open, so it can’t be updated properly. Closing Background Applications may help with that

For a more targeted approach, we’ve seen some people have success by:

  • Opening Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc, then click More Details), and in the Details tab, find “wowvoiceproxy.exe” and click End Task on that, then try updating again. Make sure WoW isn’t running when you do this
  • If you’ve moved the WoW install from one computer to another, find the World of Warcraft folder on your PC (it’s in C:\Program Files (x86) by default), right-click on the folder, tick the Hidden box, then hit Apply, and “Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files”, don’t close the Properties window yet! Reverse the process after that by un-ticking the Hidden box, and hitting Apply again
