So, I am playing on Gehennas. I had other characters from P1 on other servers. I am only playing on Gehennas but have 3 lvl 80’s on other realms I can’t even pay to transfer to Gehennas? Can you just make it so you can transfer characters from other servers by PAYING (yes I want to give you money since that’s all that you understand), if you have a lvl 80 character on that realm already? I think it doesn’t take a genius to realise that this would be good for both players and Blizzard Activision pockets.
Same, I have 28 level 80 druids with bags filled with ores and herbs that were busy bot… manually farming mats on dead realms and I can’t bring them to Gehennas to sell all those items and then sell the gol… I mean, bask in my glory?
This whole locked thing is just blatantly to force you to not reuse your old chars, and re-level new ones (read pay more monthly fees).
I am already playing in Gehennas. Transferring my old chars there is 0 extra stress on the servers. And checking if I already have chars in a server before allowing me to transfer there should be 2 lines of code. If it’s not, there are several people unfit for their job in there.
But as I said, the issue is not developer-related. This is a blatant sales-related decision.
That makes no sense. You have to pay to play Wrath anyway so you don’t pay more.
Don’t you think if it was sales related they would allow you to transfer as it makes them more money? But I agree, it is a decision they have made not to allow some transfers.
Of course you do. Forced to start on a new server, you play the extra time to get from 1 to 70 all over again. That’s 1-2 months extra before you are even able to step into wrath. The DK would make it kinda ok, if you enjoy playing one. But also see below
They prefer it if you play from the start all over again. It’s the same money more or less, but re-leveling a character creates extra new commitment to it. And strengthens the sunken cost fallacy perception in the player because you have spent time on top of money.
