I’ve grinded reps in vanilla and none were as bad as this. Especially with how badly Blizza has nerfed it after a bunch of people used exploits but never punished them.
I guess that old saying Blizzard follow “exploit early” really is the way to go. I’m really looking forward to spending next 15 hours grinding SCRAP, thanks Blizzard!
We were supposed to get Mysterious Winds of Fortune that doubled the rep alongside Turbulent Timeways, but Blizz ditched it last minute because of Legion Remix [seriously who cares about Legion rep at this point??].
I wouldn’t bother till the next one, even with it it was such a brain numbing endeavour doing SCRAP for ages.
Thankfully I lucked out getting the mount off the second trove. Felt my sanity waning… God forbid having to do more attempts at it.
I wanted the damn double rep buff for Cartel rep to gather Misc Mechanicas.
For both items, players will need 200K Echoes of Ny’alotha. That equates to roughly 200 weeks of farming this currency, which is just shy of 4 years worth of time, for two pieces of Housing decor.
That gives you an idea of what Blizzard thinks of the player base
Worst rep grind ever was going after Legion’s paragon trove mounts… farming 10k rep for a 1% drop chance of them. I got the 10k WQs achievement in Legion and was yet to get any of the mounts.
And this was before they doubled the rep gains.
Legion Remix players are damn lucky they don’t have to endure that, getting them easily for a couple of Bronze.
I completed mine in the blackwater dock area & we had a 2x4 group (2 groups of 4 players) going, this allowed everyone to pull & tag the mobs without them getting gray health bars. It made the grind kinda bearable.
We’d chug the potions to half our health, put down the towers on top of each other & pull everything to the towers & then kill them. This still took many hours to do, but at least we made regular progress.
