Demonology: Summoned pets not obeying pet commands

What gets really annoying when playing demo lock, is that summoned imps/vilefiend/dreadstalkers do not obey pet commands.

This leads to other than felguard summons waiting for your 1st cast to land, so that’s usually around 2 seconds later…

Just change it so it will command all summons with the command pet functions…

that.

“assist” mode is stupid. from the moment they introduced it in cata (was it ?) I have pet in passive 100% of the time + /petattack button on my bar.

though, all those little minions, they just dumb all the way. (because we can’t control them).

OK, I’d understand that ordering wild imps not to attack could become too strong (stacking them for implosion) but at the very least being able to /petattack them onto a new target…

Am I misremembering, or wasn’t it the case at some point that all pets and guardians would attack the target currently afflicted with Doom?

If you are out of combat then Doom or any other insta cast spell will aggro your non-prime/main demon on the target. But if you wanna swap targets, or stop DPS completely it is not an option for you. In order to swap target of your non-prime/main demons you need to deal X-amount of damage to the new target in Y-amount of time, this is hardly an optimal solution.
If with Wild imps it is not an end of the world, thus it is still a bad desing, but when you look at tyrant the situation becames a reall mess, that is actually overly complicated pile of problems that just stack on each other.

  1. Summon demonic tyrant has a cast time
  2. Tyrant’s demonic fire has a cast time equal to your shadowbolt
  3. Damage of Tyrant’s demonic fire is extremely low without Demonic consumption talent.
  4. Tyrant requires a lengthy preparation in order to be useful
  • Summon max amount of any demons without Demonic consumption
  • Summon max amount of demons with most amount of health with Demonic consumption talent.
4.1 Preparation window is very limited and highly vulnerable for any CC/Interrupt/Knockback/LoS.
  1. Tyrant will deal his damage over 15 seconds.
  • Without Demonic consumpion, his damage is hardly noticable.
  • With Demonic consumption his is barely noticable.
  1. Player is unable to switch Tyrant’s target if situation requires it.
  • This makes demonology is the most vulnerable target for Touch of Carma or Shield of vengeance.
  1. Demonic tyrant is the only main-CD demon that requires cast time.
  • Darkglare and infernal are insta cast demons, but affli and destro are not master summoners.
  • With such logic demonology should have some extremmely powerful direct damage spells and DoTs in it’s toolkit.
  1. LoS of any caster demon behind the pillar on the arena bug’s demons AI and forces it to run towards the enemy to the melee range in order to start cast again, even if demon will regain line of sight.
