Destro and Demo playstyle feels really empty, PvE

So I tried out destro first after the patch and you can feel the buttons that are missing and there was not even many buttons to begin with anymore. My biggest gripe is rift being a passive that doesn’t even proc. Channel Demonfire at the end of the tree also feels just bad.

So I figured I try out Demo after a few years break and it felt even more empty than destro compared to what it used to be. Having to choose between implosion and power siphon…god it is a bad design choice. No soul strike either.

This expansion you really can see and feel that blizzard is preparing the audience for a console release with simplified specs and rotations and I might just skip midnight all together.

Thoughts?

I, and others, have posted multiple times about the wasted potential that is rifts. They had so much there and a movement ability. To me, CDF is a pointless talent and should not be in our tree.

I’ve really enjoyed Demo. I must admit it has been a spec I struggled with in the past. The choice node between Power siphon and implosion feels odd. As does requiring three shards to cast HoG.

Really sad, I know we get more points as we level but I can’t see it fix issues like lacking rift etc. TWW destro was the first time since WoD I actually liked the spec…

oh no, no soul strike…an ability that you pressed once every 30 seconds and could have just put under any of your casts to have it cast automatically… damn that really hollowed out the spec

i also find that complaint about the choice node funny.
ppl: “ we want meaningful choices in our talent tree!”
Blizz: “ok".”
ppl: “Wait no!”

Soul strike was a nice mobility spell, gap closer for your pet, shard regen and it had nice class fantasy element by being a “pet ability”.

And I don’t think anyone with over room temperature IQ had issues playing with both power siphon and implosion at the same time, it added a nice flow to the spec. Siphon for shards on the move and implosion for a quick burst of ST/AoE dmg.

What I’ll never understand is how could they go from legion demo to bfa and onwards.

I’ll take legion demo back minus the demonic empowerment spam any day. How we didn’t get thal’kiel’s consumption as an ability while others like unholy dk kept theirs is beyond me.

They removed doomguard in bfa then added it as part of a tier set in Df then made it a talent in Tww and THEN brought back its 2min CD again in midnight??? Wtf was the point of removing it in the first place???

Demo has only gotten worse. I’ll say it again as long as tyrant exists this spec will never be fun to play.

We’ve come from summoning powerful demons and turning into a demon to spamming imps and dogs lmao

90% of my demo friends over the years have quit/abandoned the class as a whole because it gets less enjoyable every new year. I find myself playing lock less and less every expansion. Its simply not fun to play imo

nobody said anything about having a “problem” with it, buddy.

I think we got some good changes for at least demonolgy, as the rotation flows very well.
My biggest gripe is that there is not enough buttons to press, out of all the 3 specs demonology is actually the hardest now at least in AOE thanks to the fact you need to spread doom via cores.

Destro literally plays the same, and aff is just in general better.
CDF still not being channable while moving is prob the biggest problem with it at the moment, also the final node of it is kinda useless as you have almost perma wither/immolate with conflagerate now.

If i had power and could change destro i would simply meld CDF and rift together

  • make so CDF is channable on the move. replace the final node with a 2 choice node
  1. make so CDF is channable on the move. replace the final node with a 2 choice node either you get a passiv of when CDF crits there is a EQUAL chance of your crit that a bolt will summon a rift. (capped at 3 portal, one of each type for balance)
  2. While CDF is on cooldown, you get another channel ability (not channble on the move) where you summon a rift every 3 seconds its being channeled (uncapped and scales with haste)

I think this would make its a very strong talent both in AOE and ST, and make you want haste and crit to a certain amount.

But im a random warlock main :dracthyr_shrug: :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I dont get why implosion is a 20 sec cooldown now, it literally destroyed the aoe damage of this spec.
