Blizzar always said “It wouldn’t make sense to add high elves lore wise”. Citing “Their population is too low”, and “They would look just like blood elves”. Well I have news for you Blizzard, Void elves have an even smaller population and Kul Tirans by all means should have looked just like humans. What makes no sense lore wise is for Alliance loyal high elves to join the Horde. The Horde who’s races include trolls, orcs and undead, all of whom caused terrible pain and devastation to the high elves. It already makes little sense the blood elves joined the Horde. “Oh, but the Forsaken were victims of the scourge too” I hear you say. So explain to me why the Blood elves were so much more forgiving than the humans were? The humans are actually related to the Forsaken, unlike the blood elves who wewre slaughtered by them. It honestly makes more sense lorewise for the forsaken to have joined the Alliance than for the Blood elves to have joined the horde, but I guess the name “blood elf” is too edgy for the Alliance? Back to the original point, adding high elf customisation to Blood elves would be to spit in the faces of everyone you told “It doesn’t make sense lorewise to add Blood elves”. Give them a different skeleton and different styles and suddenly, hey, they don’t look like blood elves anymore do they? It’s like magic.
We got them already, they’re Blood Elves…
No, no. They appear to have added blue eyes as an option for blood elves. This is what I’m refering to. Maybe I should’ve made it more clear.
You’ll already find blue-eyed blood elves ingame… Sin’Dorei and Quel’Dorei got nothing to do with eye color.
While it seems likely, it’s not actually confirmed players are getting the blue eyes. They might just be updating the ones the NPCs get, since it’s the exact same model. Man that would be pretty funny if it’s the case.
The Horde is not getting high elves.
They MAY be getting blue-eyed blood elves.
The difference is political.
High/Blood/Void Elf eye colors are based on what they use as a source of power:
Blue for Arcane
Green for Fel
Golden for Light
Purple for Void
You’ll be glad to know that further datamining has ruled out those blue eyes for Blood Elves

This is alpha though, so anything can still happen.
Yeah, give us Dark Iron Dwarves.
Blue for dk as well
Yellow and white originally undead XD
It’s really messy
They too good for ally, I agree
Leveling my second DI
Course they are not. The Horde got them in tbc already.
I want Low Elves, elves who will have no qualms about degrading themselves for my amusement.
Experience tells you only need to discover a well of magical power, and the elves will follow.
Nice, I didn’t had to read further to know this is filled with ignorance, thank you. I’m very glad about it.
It’s not confirmed that blue eyes will be a customization option for Blood Elves in Shadowlands, though it seems likely it’ll be.
It’s just a question about how they approach it lore-wise. Technically, the green eyes should have been gone for a while now.
And they will never give High Elves to the Alliance. That ship left port in 2006. It’s written in stone now. It doesn’t make any sense no matter how badly some players want it.
I’m just gonna respond based on the starting argument of your post
You are reading too deeply into what they say
They make excuses for things they don’t want to add in, hoping you shut up about it
I’m in agreement with the devs, high elves are a dumb request, and if they were to be added at all it would be a belf customization
Too late, we are already part of the horde.
Oh look:
Yet another nelf whining on the forums for horde and demanding things!!!
Typical
Pretty sure I saw some data-mine twitter already confirm that the blue eyes were NOT for Blood Elves.
Found the link for those interested (again this isn’t confirmed by Blizzard just some data miner)
