leave it for those that like it but me since i got my regular flying working i did not look back at my dragons since then, happy to use normal mounts again.
Well something did happen. Blizzard didn’t do this cause they love players or whatever crap they spew on that Blizzcon stage. They saw that players react poorly to many things. I’m glad to say that they got their crap together this expansion and actually paid attention to what people wanted and one of the things, looks like, many people didn’t want was to lose their ability to fly. Pathfinder sucks a lot, not because you have to work for it, cause let’s be honest here, you get it even playing very, VERY casually, but the time it takes for it to be enabled.
It is funny to me, because one of the justification the no-flying enhusiasts aside their hurt immersion was that flying is too easy, too…non-dynamic. And here we are today. And what’s their response to this? Remove dynamic flying. Funny, yeah?
Oh that’s for sure. Something did happen I agree.
I think Dynamic Flying is one of the best things to be added in the game. It’s a step to the right direction in terms of both zone size and gameplay direction+addition.
If they use the increased zone size to add more wPvP and questing hubs, more secrets to explore etc etc then that’s a win for everyone in my book for example.
Not to mention all the gameplay additions we can have, the races were just one of them. But using dynamic flying we can get at last the aerial fights we have been promised since WotLK…
Don’t see how aerial fights would work. Then again I’m just a player not a developer. What like firing machine guns at each other like in WW1?
Right now there is a way to do it since you can dismount people if you roll through them.
They can flesh this out even more, or simply create an area where trying to dismount other players mid-air is essential.
Or they could rework it completely and add WW1 machineguns as you said. This would be interesting!
HAHAHAA nice joke. People were unsubing becouse of lack of content no beocuse of flying. Why would anyone even quit beocuse of flying when there was nothing to fly to in WoD anyway. People used lack of flying as scapegoat to push their agenda it has absolutly nothing to do with it.
not a joke, i was here every time a thread was made on this. really angry “i want to fly” and some would do a boycott thread, which was t unsub.

Yep becouse few threads on forum sure are representative of entire playerbase right? You know there is less then 1% of actual players here posting right?

tbh i think the forums and youtube done enough damage to make this work. sure the other half would have no idea about this and just played the game as it should be.
you and i and the rest though? this is our reality bwahahaha
It wasn’t just a few hundreds, obviously. Cause it the numbers were that low, there would be no dynamic flying today. They obviously took a good look at this pathfinder situation and came up with the current solution.
Personally I wasn’t gonna quit over this but I do recall I’d leave content undone waiting for the pathfinder to unlock, content I actually never got around to doing. And why? Cause of Pathfinder? Nah. That idea was crap and this time, if they choose to do it again with dynamic flying I am quitting because it would be simply insulting.

People used the one text box that blizzard actually looks at. The “reason for canceling the subscription” box.

3.2 million unsubbed first quarter that is a fact and mostly due to flying fact as Ion had to make a video about pathfinder after so much backlash.
You can see the rapid decline here

1% of actual players here posting right?
3% use the wow forums total all over the world so when please posting use actual facts which can be easily looked up and posting on a classic char Vin is a new low for you.
you know i played this game since 2.4.3 till now and still after all of these years i go to wintergrasp and crystal song forest under the old dalaran and sit there for an hour time to time.
because in the past we couldnt fly this fast in the sky all the time, we had to go on foot do things and listening to music and ambient sound of the game
almost everything was on the ground so you had time to interact with the environment way more and even your mount was 310% and you had time to see the art and everything in the sky,
but these days everyone is going in the sky like a missile
70% of the players are in the sky all the time
even farming is with flying mounts with 810% speed like herbalism and mining.
(dynamic) flying is here to stay. If it were to ever get removed this game would die for sure. People are already avoiding zones they can’t fly in.

Any zone that does not have dynamic flying feels more dull right now.
Dragonriding is good just learn how to use it.
Yet they announced, people unsubbed giving removal of flying as the reason and they did a u turn in days.
But by all means believe what you wish.
Flying used to be something we could buy at max level, I miss those days, it was like a reward. You’d done all your exploratory land roaming on mounts and were free to go faster in the skies!
Ironic really considering Dragon Riding gives me motion sickness. So now I’m very happy on my slow flapper on the Dragon Isles.

Somehow the term “slow flapper” makes me picture someone using a mount that has the form of a large sleepy chicken.
