Dungeon's are TOXIC

Oh sure, it is always on tanks to calculate the lack of ability to press interrupt from the entire party sure.

I wonder why no one wanna tank in pugs with such mentality going around.

“Walk past a patrol or over a fence” is tactic like now?

Holy cow people.
You literally need to walk and jump in a straight line.

If the skip was COMPLEX then sure, but literally walking is complex now?

Bah

How, do you put a picture in this web sitethanks Chiara

Breg if you get a spare 1minute have a little skip through the video especially the 2nd dungeon and you can see what damage these ‘WANNABEE MDI STAR’ Tanks can do.

You can make a tank, and make the dungeon run a chill run as it is you who makes the pace.
All your problem are now solved!

I am pretty sure you know PuGs don’t quite work that easily, but it’s nice to be a forum hero with the solution to everything.

Even Tanks need white knights! :two_hearts:

I am not talking about yout experience specifically, but this general attitude that tank need to calculate even the possible bad plays from others or it is their fault, is a bad mentality, if i skip a pack and the next one fear goes off cause a dps does not kick while i have mine on cd, it is not my fault.

I should not play an entire dungeon assuming every bad play possible.

That’s not an option I want to play Evoker this expansion, I do think it’s a genuine issue with the game atm tho and I am dreading M+

And the thing is there’s literally no reason to suicide tank the way they are doing. I don’t understand the mentality, literally holding W and hoping for the best.

Fair enough.
Then you’ve clearly met a few bad tanks or the healer is just not keeping up. Seems like a bad group from the start, find the guild you talked about and you’ll be set

how can u wipe witha evoker what is so over tunded cna do like 50K+ hps at level 60

Not gonna lie whenever i tank a dungeon with randoms i never bother using shortucts or trying to skip packs that can easily be body pulled.

It’s just easier that way.

Honest Knottley it’s been every normal dungeon whilst leveling up in Dragonflight. That’s right NORMAL dungeon. Not even time to say hello it’s foot on the gas, mass pulls, failed skips and wipes. Do you ever wonder what chance NEW players have got in WoW?

To be fair after watching the video there are so many thing being done wrong and mechanics of the dungeon being ignored by everyone its not a wonder there are wipes. Even on normal dungeons you still need to do the mechanics from time to time.

Watch the 2nd run for the good stuff

Yes, the levelling dungeons have a real issue I think it’s because of a lack on environmental interaction. Look at the shadowland’s dungeons for comparison, pretty much all of them had environmental effects that cause the party to have to think instead of blind charge. Sensible pull etc. That’s just not there in the DF dungeons, they’re just an area with mobs, so people just charge. Take, mechagon from BFA, you had the sky ship thing to watch out for, in Da other side each of the rooms you went into had environmental traps you needed to be careful off while pulling, mist had the door puzzle before the boss, theatre of pain had the orbs which made you pick the path, the boss fights also had environmental attacks, like the hook room in theatre of pain. The only one that you could just charge around was necrotic wake, and even that’s bosses had better mechanics than the ones in DF

Maybe it is due to the dungeon design I never thought of it like that. I just put it down to tanks trying to MDI all stars and killing the whole group with stupid pulls and skips that don’t work.

Watched it. Odd route for the tank to take i agree, but again basic mechanics on the 1st and 2nd boss were just basically ignored by the whole group. I dont think this is down to “MDI Star” pulls but more a willing ignorance by the whole team to just ignore the mechanics. Tanks gotta take some of the blame for not getting threat properly but its not all the tank.

Solution: when you attack the boss s/he immediately aggroes all the mobs you skipped at your group.

It is. He is leading the group through the dungeon and needs to check for the ability of his group. Not blindly rush through assuming everyone will keep up with him. It’s not a solo show.

I didn’t talk about walking. I was talking about taking irregular routes and pulling piles of mobs without opening your mouth once to communicate your tactic nor making sure that people in your group (and especially the healer) know the dungeon well enough in order to keep up with that route / pulls without risks. If a tank is acting like this, it’s ego tripping. Not tanking.

There were a lot of times where I had a tank or heal in the past saying “Hey, I’m new to this / just started to play again. Please have patience with me and help me out” Never was a problem. If heal is struggling, I help healing. If tank is struggling, we cc or hunter makes sure he keeps aggro. Where’s the big deal acting a bit more social and like a team player instead of forcing the pace YOU are used to onto others in the group?

Actually I had the most struggles in dungeons caused by new players where I was thinking “if I wasn’t an experienced tank… I would have a horrible experience”. I had to pull some stunts to prevent wipes and did a last man standing several times and some of my healers did a really good job not letting the group die.
Yesterday I had a mage in Nokhud at the storm boss. I started at the first totem, going counterclockwise. When he arrived at the spot of the first totem we were at the 3rd totem and there was a pat walking between us. He took a short glance aaaaand… walked straight through it.
Like seriously… That’s not even excused by being new…
