I loved Enhancement Shaman in BfA. It was fun, it was fast it felt unique.
What happened?
It feels like they are now a really bad copy of Ele Shaman.
Gone are the ways where it was fun to whack enemies with your axes (or maces) and make “big boom” sound and visual effects. Now it’s back to casting with two melee attacks. Why would you take away the uniqueness of the Spec? I just wanted to whack stuff with the Elements
Also, I have 6 attacks in my Resto Spec and 7 in Enhancement. That is wierd, no?
If anything, BFA Enhancement was a wanna be Fury Warrior, but worse.
Enhancement had already lost its uniqueness in BFA. We’re getting back a bit of what Enhancement was before, so it’s pretty ironic saying that BFA was what made it unique.
Of course there’s parallels between Elemental, it’s part of the Shaman kit. Having parallels with Fury Warrior was what it didn’t make any sense.
I’m not saying this with the intention of mocking you, but if you prefered BFA Enhancement you’d be better served with Fury Warrior.
We need shamanic rage, and it has freaking 30 buttons to press, it needs little simplicity , who needs 30 buttons which does 5hit, we need 15 abilities which matters not 30 which does almost nothing.
We need totem mastery placing 4 totems - thats 4 buttons in one
Totems need to be off gcd and tremor totem needs to remove fear not like now, when you need to predict fear to use it, i am not nostradamus
hex need to be instant on 5 maelstorm weapon stacks - who the f… thought melee need to cast cc, patethic
give shamanic rage back
buff heals…1000hp heal crit and 2k heal on 5 maelstorm is lower than any heal in game, tanks have more heals then us
Currently leveling a lvl 36 enhancement and have loads of downtime, sometimes 3 or 4 seconds of auto attacks with nothing to press, do I get to press something every single gcd at lvl 50 or? Thanks.
I wouldn’t say the game play is boring, as long as maelstrom weapons keeps proccing at a good rate, but sometimes indeed I get 3 secs downtime and that’s not very cool.
i’d consider New Enhancement to be far more unique then What BFA gave it… Enhancement in BFA was a Litteral budget Warrior. How can someone realistically feel any other way around it is unknown to me. it absolutely butchered what it was however
New Enhancement is the Battle Mage, Unique to the Shaman Class. No other class Represents such a Role realistically… Paladins become far too melee centric to be considered to have anything that magical involved with it anymore.
I mean look at the video from Sinjex… how isnt that unique to shaman?.. i dont see any other specc or class that Plays remotely alike it realistically.
I’d really like to understand this “uniqueness” of being Warriors 3rd DPS Specc?
What exactly is ‘battle mage’ about Enhancement Shaman?
BfA Enhancement gave a medium range to their filler abilities Rockbiter and Flametongue. These animations also were weapon swings so it felt like you were throwing the elements from your weapons. Now when you use your shocks or spells, it sheathes your weapons. Blizzard specifically made new combat animations in Legion to stop this. This is why Death Knights now point their weapon at the target when using Death Coil or other similar abilities instead of using their casting poses.
Now? You’re a melee class that every 10 seconds or so can throw out a ranged ability. Which is mostly pointless as you’re going to be meleeing your target anyway.
I will say during solo play the spec is more dynamic than in group play, only due to how Lightning Shield gives stacks of Maelstrom Weapon. Otherwise you’re reliant on your three weapon attacks to generate Maelstrom, which unless you get the free Stormstrike proc, doesn’t happen often.
Maybe there are Azerite traits that buff this. But the spec feels slow and clunky compared to BfA which I actually enjoyed.
What is unique about Enhancement Shaman now? Melee abilities you use on cooldown to gather stacks of a buff that every once in awhile allow you to throw a ranged attack that you’re more than likely going to use on a target in melee range anyway?
No other spec I can think of had medium range abilities like BfA enhancement did. Personally, I see Enhancement players being split into two camps. The old guard who are seemingly happy that the old playstyle is back, and the new players who started with it in BfA (or maybe Legion, didn’t play a Shaman then so no idea how it played) who don’t like how slow it is now.
There are numerous times I’ve been sat there watching my screen with everything on cooldown so I have nothing to do as a player. If I wanted to play an auto attack class, I’d play Classic.
a Battle mage is a combination of Magical and physical abilities. which the class does Fulfill realistically… or is the closest thing avaliable in WoW atleast.

Well in all honesty this is just entirely incorrect realistically
ur gonna Cast on every 5th Maelstrom Weapon effectively and ur gonna use a shock every 5 seconds… in AoE enviroments u’ll be likely casting every few seconds realistically.
Well Natural Harmony does to a extent but even without it, it feels ALOT better. it doesnt feel clunky it does however feel slower which is fine.

you litterally named one. Death Knight. and Swinging secondary forces With a blade = Paladin
its litterally what they do… Use the Light to enhance their strikes with melee animations.
slower pace doesnt = Clunky. it really doesnt feel clunky. and synergizes within itself very well
Maelstrom Weapon makes u Instant cast
your instant cast = Big Frost Shock Damage.
Chain Lightning = bigger Crash Lightning Damage.
Lightning crash Pumps AoE from lava Lash and Stormstrike
Feral Spirits Generates immediate Maelstrom
Ascendence gives u Spam Stormstrike which can flex into AoE
it all lends itself into one another, so how is that realistically clunky.
and ofcourse theres a devide, just like nwith every class… thats why you dont redesign every specc in the game randomly… because it generates these problems
Old Enhance mains want their mains back New enhance mains wants the new to remain.
And to add to this have you seen the conduits? There is one conduit that if slotted will give Frost Shock a 20% chance (min rank, at max rank it’s 35% chance) of generating 2 Maelstrom Weapon stacks, I think that and a decent amount of haste from gear and the rotation might just be fluid enough with no down time in group content where Maelstrom stacks from Lightning Shield aren’t a factor.
