Essences, the puzzle-piece that doesnt fit the game, newcommers nor returning players - no matter how you turn it

Nazjatar ones get easier to be obtained aswell, but thats about it.
Honor ones have been nerfed already although still boring farm and a long grind.

At best the changes made shave off around 5-7 days worth of bodyguard dailies (currently we are talking 25-30 days for that).

So the change is minimal at best.
Mechagon price reductions: they should have hotfixed that a lot earlier. Prices are way too steep.

Honestly, if you can’t see how wildly different those two things are, I should probably give up at this point.

You obviously can disagree with their perception all you want, but considering his whole post is about his perception and the way his perception is making him quit the game, I don’t see what exactly you want to accomplish here. Do you have any reasonable hopes for where your posts will lead to? Anything? Or just arguing that his perception is not agreeable just for the sake of arguing?

Yeah well the difference is that with essences you know EXACTLY what you need to be doing, while with legendaries you had no clue.

You also know exactly how much you need to do while with legendaries you were at mercy of rng.

And you had no clue WHICH ONE will you get, again, at mercy of RNG.
You might be unlucky as me and didn’t see Bis for almost a year.

Yups, and this is why the outrage was real on the forums too during Legion :frowning:

I wouldn’t say one system is better than the other, they’re both equally terrible in different ways.

We should be, collectively, asking for better. Instead of bickering over who had it worse.

Yeah it’s crazy in a game that allows you to have up to 50 characters. You’d think they would love people who play alts, as people would play more.

For me alting is my fave part of gaming in mmo’s. Love making diff transmogs, trying new races, then trying to get them geared.

We shouldn’t feel punished for being a latecomer or wanting alts that we can switch to mains if we change our minds.

Don’t give us that excuse that we will gear and get bored too fast… in Wrath you could raid both 10 and 25 man for loot and I never got bored of gearing alts and my main.

When paying a sub let people play the way they want.

The whole raid lockouts thing is fairly complicated as it keeps changing. Some raids you can do both, others you can’t.

Lockouts at a Glance
Raid lockouts limit the number of times a character can kill a boss in a week for a chance at obtaining loot from that boss. Throughout the years, different raid lockout systems have been used, and multiple systems exist in the game depending on the system used at the time a raid was introduced.

To check your current raid lockouts press your ‘O’ key in-game, select the Raid tab, and click on Raid Info in the upper right. This will display your current lockouts, and time left until they reset.

There are three types of raid lockouts used in the game.

Loot-based Lockout
Used for: All Raid Finder raids, Siege of Orgrimmar Normal/Heroic, Warlords raids Normal/Heroic.

  • You can kill a boss as many times per week as you like, but only loot it once per difficulty.
  • Anyone can join anyone’s instance.
  • Bosses are never locked to you, and you can always go back and kill them later even if you’ve skipped them by joining a group that had progressed further.
  • Raid sizes can be anywhere from 10 to 30 players, and difficulty automatically scales to match.

Flexible Boss-based Lockout
Used for: Normal difficulty raids from Wrath of the Lich King through Throne of Thunder.

  • You can only kill a boss once per week, and you may not enter an instance where a boss is alive that you have already defeated that week.
  • You can move from group to group during a week as long as you’re joining instances that don’t have bosses alive you’ve already killed.
  • If you enter an instance that is more progressed than your own and get saved to it, you will be locked to all prior bosses.
  • You can move between 10 and 25 raid size, given these constraints.

Strict Instance-based Lockout
Used for: All classic raids (Molten Core through Sunwell), Heroic difficulty of Wrath of the Lich King raids through Throne of Thunder, and all Mythic difficulty raids.

  • Progress is tied to a fixed instance ID. Once tied to an instance ID, you may not enter any other versions of that raid of that difficulty until your raid lock resets.
  • If other players complete that instance while you are absent, the instance will be empty for you as well, because progress is tied to the instance, and not your character.
  • You may not switch between 10-player and 25-player raid size once locked to one size or the other (does not apply to Mythic which is 20-player only).

I know all that I played since tbc… my point was back when we could raid both it still didn’t make me bored from having too much gear at once.

I just make even more alts and had a blast getting them geared and trying stuff out.

That was fun… this expac is far from fun for me.

Bring back tier sets and all those awesome glyphs, and stop punishing us for wanting to make alts.

In Wrath you couldn’t do both everywhere.

But we have maximum flexibility now.

I had my own raid guild in wrath for ICC and we would do 10 man as a guild (best times I ever had) then we’d do 25 man part pug.

We did normal 10 then 25 hc part pugged… check it out… I am telling the truth.

Wrath was separate lockouts with separate loot tables. ICC was the addition of heroic mode, which shared with its respective size. You couldn’t do normal gunship 10 and heroic gunship 10, but you could do gunship 10 and gunship 25.

Using gunship as an example because it was an incredibly easy boss, and often pugs would swap to heroic just for gunship (If they had someone with LK normal to change it) for the better loot.

I even quoted the blue. Not all 10 man and 25 can be done in same reset, you tie yourself to a lockout.

Say what you like I know what raids I did each week

They did change it later ofc… but for ages it’s what we did.

The merge happened in cata, same time as the loot table merge.

Admittedly ICC was only one tier. But it was the one tier when the heroic raiding system, and the 10 / 25 man sizing systems overlapped.

I don’t need help.

Wrath was the most amazing expansion for me because I had a full guild and we raided 6 nights … was a great time that I will never forget.

I will leave you to your denial.

Aww thanks that would be nice.

come back to us.

Why do these lazy ppl still talk? And even have advocates that talk about their perception as if no-one that has done what they can’t do can’t see it’s pure and utter lazyness on their part?

New char 120 a few days ago, lvl 35 neck auto, lvl 50 just by playing stuff that gives gear to a low ilvl char, 50-56 with 3 expeditions, 2nd lvl of flame at 55 auto, m+4 for first m+ essence which is now in secondary slot, pugged my key to +6 at 403 ilvl, doing 30k on short boss fights and 20k overall.

All is doable, you’re just lazy af and prefer to whine at the sidelines.
