Features WoW could lose

Tmog costs from top of my head, either halve the cost or remove the cost.

Heroics are great for people who don’t want to buy/craft gear or do M+. There are people even more casual than the low M+ keyrunners.

Flight Masters are great for going AFK if you need to pick your nose while traveling.

Agree, and flight masters and portals are as old as wow as concept. Would hate see them removed. Flying and use of portals are not the reason why world is not so big part of the game anymore either so removing them would not change much regards that, its bigger and more complex matter than just flight points or portals.

This I can get behind!

M+

If they get rid of that 90% of the games toxicity will be gone too :grinning:

Also PvP, barely anyone bothers with it and there is much better games out there for those who do.

And probably 50% of playerbase too.

  • Transmog costs
  • Valorstones not becoming warbound at a certain point in the patch
  • Timegating in questlines, like that questline in Hallowfall that literally tells you “come back after reset”
  • The ability for people to nuke a rare before others can get there, the TWW prepatch event solved this perfectly, please implement this more often.

I wouldnt probably remove any content of the game because its for the benefit of any mmo to provide as big variety of content for any number of wishes people would have who buy their game and stay to continue paying monthly sub for it. Removing any aspects of the game would mean losing money for the business and on that sense would be nonsensical.

Pvp/m+ aswell are pretty cost efficient contents in the game, blizzard gets playerbase for very little work and maintenance. Players play the same maps for nothing but rating for entire season without asking nothing but tuning now and then.

I’m going to make you very happy.
Did you know you can turn all of that off in the settings?

I did that a long time ago because the swishing and swirling gives me headaches.
My flights are now quiet and calm.

As a matter of interest, why do we pay to transmog something? Is there an in-game reason for having to pay gold to change what something looks like?

I can only guess but I think their reasoning is probably gold dump related, but the price is very steep and for minimum they could atleast halve it imo.

I would love it if transmog became cheap, or at no cost! The thought crossed my mind maybe gear simply should drop in gold value a bit while we’re at it, I can imagine repair costs if you like pushing M+ or are progression raiding are painful by now. Would help with transmog cost in one go.

It used to be a magical service provided by ethereals, so it used to have an ingame reason.
But now… No not really. Just a gold sink I guess.

I would remove all currencies from 2 expansions ago and before. Convert them all to gold and make everything they could be used for cost gold in their place.

I would remove Zidormi. In its place I would make Chromie also dictate the timeline that each zone will appear as. So if I want to see Uldum or Vale before the 8.3 patch, I would simply have to switch to any expansion before BFA.

I would remove the 8/8 and 6/6 upgrade paths of equipment, but I would keep the Explorer / Adventurer / etc / Myth characterization, except I’d probably remove Explorer from there too, it doesn’t serve anything except add to the bloat. Upgrades would be doable from the lowest (Adventurer) all the way to the highest (Myth) in intervals of 13 ilvl each.

I would remove randomness of appearance of tertiary stats or extra gem socket on equipment, or conversely I would add an easy and cheap way through crafting to add tertiary stats and/or gem socket.

For your first point, I’d actually rename the entire M+ system to H+. Heroic stays as it is. Mythic0 becomes Heroic+1. Mythic+2 becomes Heroic+2 etc.

And here’s what will ruffle most people’s feathers: I would remove the concept of removing achievements and rewards after a season has ended.

I also liked what they did with Dragonflight in Zaralek and Emerald Dream, where there would be a 1- or 2- minute zone announcement so that people could gather at the rare’s spawn position before it became active.

-=EDIT=-
Oh, I forgot. I’d remove all different modes of old raids and dungeons once they become legacy content. So no more 10- or 25- man modes or Normal/Heroic/Mythic ones:

  • all dungeons would have just Normal mode.
    – In the case of extra bosses available in non-Normal modes, like Vanessa VanCleef in Deadmines, the Normal mode version would include the full version of the dungeon.
    – Loot tables of Normal/Heroic/Mythic mode dungeons consolidated. Every boss would drop 6 items instead of 1 or 2.
  • all raids would have just Mythic mode which would be the hardest version they had available
    – similarly to dungeons, all loot tables would be consolidated and drop rates would be increased to 12 or 15 items per boss.

Hm. I would remove:

LFR and Myhtic. Make normal a little bit harder, same with HC.

Myhtic +. Or kinda just rename it. Just normal Dungeons, Heroic and Heroic + .

Flying. :face_with_peeking_eye:
Phasing.
Crossrealm.
And a few currencies. There are too much.
The different quality levels of craft materials.

I use them pretty often. I want to go to zone X but need to pee? Bam! Flight Master! Or just in general so i can do other stuff while i get to place X while being afk.

Yes, along with heroic raids.

When would I make a cup of tea. Answer me that!

Can’t say I’ve particularly noticed it. Do you play at low resolution?

Tbh yes remove heroic and stick m0s in the rdf

You’re missing one important fact - there are some people who are doing only heroic dungeon runs as they don’t care about higher difficulty. Normal and heroic dungeons exist for people who are maybe new to the game, want to learn stuff and gear at slower pace. Especially new people won’t go progressing through delves since they don’t understand all the game mechanics. Please, don’t forget that not all people engage in the end game contect the same way.

As many suggested, they are still valid. I for one use them sometimes when I need to travel and I’m either lazy or need to do something outside the game. So it’s fine to have them. Teleportation kinda kills the immersion of the world. I am not even a really huge fan of skyriding and usually flying on normaln speed.

You can easily turn it off in the settings. No need to be removed. Some people enjoy it, some don’t. It’s variety.

My suggestion …

Void Storage … is this sill a thing? Haven’t checked. I know before the implementation of “dressing room” and collections, people used to store soulbound items there for transmog purposes. Or am I somehow wrong?

Transmog cost … maybe not remove the transmog cost fully, but for example rework it somehow. You make your own set, pay for it and even if you equip new item, let’s say you replace shoulder item, you don’t need to transmog it again but it would get the appearance you already paid for once.

Transportation … I know, it’s very usefull to have portal room and be able to travel anywhere with one click, but why do we have then still ships in the SW Harbor or Zeppelins in Orgrimmar?

Heritage quests … Just remove them once if you completed them once. Everytime I level new character I get the ‘ding-ding’ pop up quest for heritage

No, I did not know that  but I checked it and immediately turned it off. There really are too many things in the game to keep track of all of them :slightly_smiling_face:

Also, I would have never expected so many people using Flight Masters, that has been very illuminating.

I wouldn’t mind more maps of the same type of BGs. It’s nice that they want to make every map unique with different objectives but making a new map for an already existing game mode could mean that we’d get new “toys” more often.

I’m also a fan of playable Sethrak. I thought they would become an allied race but we’ve got the Vulpera and Mechagnomes instead :man_facepalming:

if i can add one thing to this it would be to actually transmog the SLOT rather than the item piece…
that would be a real MOG SAVIOR.

Oh, and REMOVE war mode.
Bring World PVP back
Bring PVE/PVP realms back.
and REMOVE xrealms aswell.
Yup, it will never happen but had to let it out.
Peace yall.
