Hello everyone!
I would like to start with a brief introduction of my raiding experiences and why I am writing this topic.
Been playing from beggining of Legion, started off as rogue and then switched to Mage during Nighthold, afterwards on Tomb of Sargeras I rerolled into Warrior and mainly been playing that until Liberation of Undermine, where I switched to Warlock(hard to recruit one). Been also recruiting all these years as well.
These days when I look at myself and majority of our guild members, I would say 75%+ find it difficult to farm the weekly gilded crests before we start raiding. At the moment we are extending therefore we don’t have that weekly organized activity to pick gilded crests before pretty much both our raiding days, namely Wednesday/Thursday.
Counter argument or potential solution is to move 1 of the days in another day of the week, for example like Sunday(We raid Monday as 3-rd day) and that will allow everyone to farm their weekly gilded crests and therefore be optimal raiding. As of the moment of the writing of this topic we are on the last boss on mythic and we hit the first platform few times.
What I don’t like about that is we never really changed our days, so I am not even sure how that will go, but at the same time not changing anything will mean, we always do 2/3 of our progression(while extending) and we haven’t really picked our power jump for the week.
What in my opinion will be an alternative solution is to be able to cap so to say future weekly caps(1 week in advance) and be able to use the gilded on reset. That means everyone will be able to their weekly gilded crests on the weekend. At the first week of mythic release that will meean you will have to do 2 weeks of capping, but I feel majority of the players either way play a lot on the first few weeks due to farming all the heroic gear. I am more than happy to hear other peoples feedback or counter arguments to this point.
Another solution will be to remove the extending of the mythic raids. I did play back in the day from WotLK until end of the Cataclysm when it was first introduced. I don’t remember anymore what were the pluses and minuses, but over the many years also many things have changed. Unfortunately after Nyalotha reclearing became way harder in comparison, even during BfA the Eternal Palace was already hard raid to reclear, but in Shadowlands onwards up until this expansion reclearing has been abandoned as an idea to be easy to do once you kill the boss 1-2.
Furthermore that will mean we are getting the gilded crests on the reclear day such as Wednesday and thefore there won’t be anymore need to change the gilded. Needless to say I am not fay of extending, but if you want to achieve semi-decent world rank or even cutting edge at good pace, it is the way to go. More than happy to hear what people think about this!.
P.S. I remember an interview with Morgan Day where he said that they will try to make it so the buff we are getting at the moment is not the end goal of nerfing the bosses(which has direct correlation to reclearing), but rather make the gear do this goal. So far this has not been achieved and the buff has been reduced this tier by 3%, aka 1 rank less, but I do acknowledge we got the Reshi Cape, which is perhaps even more than the 3%.
I have more to write on this whole thematic, but I think this is enough to start the conversation going. Thank you!
