Hey guys returning player with a rotational schedule here. I am intrested in doing m+ and solo old content like raids and dungeons. But is the fire mage any good at this?
Anything can solo old raids. Fire gets good in m+ about +15, it needs mobs to live a long time to do good dmg.
Fire’s great for M+ but you’ll have to get the right gear/essences/traits first, and get a tank that pulls around your Combustion cooldown, otherwise it’s not worth playing.
I’d advise Arcane for old content, you can take Chrono Shift for a near constant 50% speed boost and use Spellsteal to gather distant mobs to kill with Arcane Explosion. Displacement is also pretty useful in old content where you need to keep going back and forth down different raid wings.
