So I didnt understand why haste was so much favoured against crit until I read somewhere that haste decreases cooldowns and global cd as well?
Is this true?

haste reduces the cd of fireblast , Almost all the damage comes during your combustion window and there u have anyway 100% crit , the scaling on mastery for crit during combustion is 2 low , Fire blast crits always and is not on the gcd , u can even press it during casts without interrupting your current cast
This would make alot of sense. Why only fire blast? And what about global cd that I read about?
its a very fire blast is not on a global cd , you can cast it during your casts , the global cd is around 1 when u cast out an instant , so if you press for example arcane explosion u can cast only 1 each global cd , you can speed this global just a bit up with haste , but this global cd doesnt count for fireblast
So during combustion u can cast each second a pyroblast + fire blast in one second , also combustion is also not on a gcd and u can cast it also during casts
This is all correct and in addition more haste gives more flame patch ticks, which is better for AoE.
Its not just fireblast but its not all spells. Any spell where the cd in the tooltip is green, most short cd spells are. Haste does reduce your gcd too but that doesn’t effect fire too much. The fireblast cd reduction, the lower cast time of fireball/scorch and the faster ticks on ignite is where haste shines.
Crit isn’t great but its not bad, it will get you back into combustion faster if your playing kindling or using sun kings blessing.
