First time buying the Epic Edition. Thank you Blizz for listening :)

I log into the forum here, and mostly see the WoW community doing what it does best… Ignoring the positives, and only focusing on the negatives. :tipping_hand_man:

So let me balance out the negativity a bit, by sharing why I for the first time bought the Epic Edition, to support the direction WoW seem to be heading in the upcoming expansions.

And just a heads up, since I know this post will be a target for the above mentioned people, who are mainly here because they love being negative… I won’t reply to anyone. I’m only here to say what I have to say, and then I’m off again.

Thank you Blizzard,

For showing us WHY the next expansion is WORTH our precious time, instead of just hyping people into pre-ordering through flashy trailers. :+1: :+1: :+1:

BFA and Shadowlands were all about hyping up the player base through “flashy high energy” trailers, and making things more and more “epic”… To make us pre-order… And then when the expansions arrived, gave us chores and trickery, to FORCE the players into logging in weekly. They smelled like corporate greed, and like the players didn’t matter.

WoW - The War Within, is THE DEFINITION of listening to player feedback, and respecting our time. Thank you.

Hopefully this is the start of Blizzard finally understanding, that making WoW more financially successful, is done through making a good game… And not by squeezing more game time out of players, in disrespectful ways, like forcing them to log in weekly to grind (insert rep/ressource/currency here).

You have absolutely outdone yourself at this BlizzCon, and given the playerbase so many reasons to love the game again, once the next expansion is out. And you have given us some actual reasons to use, if we wanna convince friends who quit WoW, to come back again. :+1:

Dragonflight is great, but it is not perfect. Some people might mention things like “PvP gear being an issue”… But to me personally, it is that Dragonflight is too “jolly and happy”… I hear many players mention that “we are in a Disney movie”, which I guess kind of describes what I’m talking about…

However…

The new expansion feels (so far) much more serious, and much more dark themed… And I love it. We need to get back to WoW feeling like “WoW”, instead of a “happy playland”. And from what it seems, we will be getting a more “adult”, and less jolly expansion soon, with a more serious undertone.

And account wide rep, renovn, AND tmog farming changes to make us able to farm ALL armor and weapon types, no matter the character we farm legacy content on… :exploding_head: Holy ******* ****!.. This might be unimportant to some… But to collectors like me, that is a BIG win.

Even “dumb” things like the login screen changes, is INCREDIBLE… It’s one of those things that I personally think about frequently, since I hate some of the backgrounds of some races in the login screen. But I never said it out loud, because it “wouldn’t make a difference, since Blizz would never do anything about it”… But I guess they did, and now we got something awesome, that is a big personal win to me.

All in all… The zones look amazing. The system changes are INCREDIBLE. The open world content end game is a GAME CHANGER, for how my wife and I will be playing the game, just the two of us. And the Hero Talents look super fun.

Thank you Blizzard.

I for one am really hyped for the next expansion/s. Won’t preorder yet, will wait for beta access before I buy it. But if I do it will probably be Epic edition (again up for debate).

Awww. Why?

I agree with you though. The vast majority of what they showed was interesting, cool or awesome.

The expansion is  The only reason I haven’t done a pre-order is because I am waiting to see what will be the collector’s edition.

The beauty in the eye of the beholder… so many good topics about the expansion, you just see only negative ones and you, yourself complaining about it too

Sadly the negative topics ALWAYS get more traction even if it’s full of people disagreeing with the negative take. Varies from topic to topic ofc.

I think I said this in another discussion but I really love how they are FINALLY embracing respect the player’s time. It has taken them a long time to stop embracing the per character approach. It’s a breath of fresh air.

I’m probably more excited for Midnight expansion but how could I not be most excited for Quel’Thalas!!!

How does any of that relate to buying the epic edition?

All your narrative is equally applicable to the base edition.

Its nice that youre happy but you dont have to tip blizzard extra for the expansion.

This was, is and will be stupid reasoning in my opinion. I don’t play the character only. I play the account. I hate the character approach and not the account  :face_vomiting:.
I am so happy Blizzard are taking the gw2 and FF14 approach. It was about time for the account bound systems and mega servers!

It’s definitely something we see regularly requested on the forums.

There are always some who want to stick to per char ofc. I think they are the minority though.

Sharing valid criticism is not a bad thing.

So funny people still buying epic edition after complained. It is just because people love World of Warcraft. :joy:
