It’s both a game problem and a human problem. The game is designed in such a way that personal interest favors stacking a faction. That is the game problem. The human problem is that individuals act in their own interest instead of the collective interest.
Blizzard could solve this but not in a clean way, or at least I haven’t heard of a suggestion that didn’t involve a huge customer service problem.
Retail has warmode and sharding. Features not welcome in Classic (understandably).
Horde does have some dominance in warmode but that is rarely effective when you’ve just got it on for random world PvP. Every alliance I have met has been out for my blood and nearly every assault there is a gank squad of alliance.
Certainly isn’t a gank fest that people make it out to be tho for either side.
Am on a massively horde dominated server, and see alliance evverrrywhere coz of these features.
70/30 for 100 players, that’s a difference of 40 players on the whole landmass.
70/30 for 1000 players, that’s 400 players ON THE SAME LANDMASS.
When you have the intended original population of vanilla, people could hide in the world and keep on playing. When you have 5x the population with an exponentially increased imbalance, the places to hide and play become very sparse.
Amen … iam in the same boat horde now freely killing all in IF and SW … just stupid they did it like this and now got a 60 stuck on a server with no population
blizzard should give 1 more chance on free transfers with another unbalance alliance Dominated serv but let only alliance travel here or horde leave from Flamelash.
There is a difference between pvp and griefing, what i saw and read about flamelash this is clearly the latter one. When you MC people just to run back with them to set back their “death run progression” that is some real psycho sht right there because you arent doing that for honor anymore you just want to ruin his day or game. You cant earn anything notable from a player after you kill him 1-2 times and you should feel bad or atleast feel something like “hm maybe I shouldn’t ruin this random guy’s night because he is there for the same reason like me.” but when these things are missing from a person and he would ruin other people’s day/fun just because they are bored or because that gives them satisfaction then there is some serious problems in their brains. Honestly the first damage controll blizzard could do is completely close down every char transfer and never again make it possible, maybe then some horde player will think twice before joining a dominant faction and cause such imbalance if they have to level to 60 everytime.
For all the horde on Flamelash that were saying ‘They won the server’ tonight : Pyrrhic victory is a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat. Someone who wins a Pyrrhic victory has also taken a heavy toll that negates any true sense of achievement or damages long-term progress.
