The only purpose of the pathfinder achievements is to keep players subscribed through expansions in the hope that one day Blizzard might release flying, or to make players resubscribe when it is released.

It really isn’t about ”seeing the content” before flying. It’s about making money with subscription numbers.

Not agreeing with OP, but that’s a whack argument.

I’m not interested in WQs/Warfronts/Islands and don’t feel i should be punished for not wanting to, but yet i have to farm those since BFA release.

I think that is different since no one choose to grind WQs/Warfronts or Islands for long if they could choose for themselfs

They are just there for the purpose to fill many of our hours with

Raiding and Arena is a choice that should be rewarding with cool transmogs/gear/achievements/mounts or even pets that you cannot obtain with easy content

But flying is something that is needed mostly outside in the open world so it wouldn’t make sense that we would get it anywhere else

have to say no, the worst thing that can happen is gating things behind a raid, think about it, any new commer or someone who is a tad bit late, and maby is not in a guild doing raids, will never get flying then, becuse none would take a person who might not be best geard on to a raid ever, heck you cant even now get in to a normal raid if you aint good geard

That’s like saying that noone would do raiding if they could choose for themselfs.

If you’re not raiding/doing M+, not doing PvP and not doing open world content, what are you doing? Running old content?

Its like you want to actively exclude pvpers from flying, why not toss them a bone and say ‘alright sure why not’?

In general I dont mind it behind a repgate, I have issues with the current way rep is acquired in current BFA but I dont know if anything changes in 8.2 in that regard but thats a seperate issue

Yes you got people pay sub for flying you are so smart and then they stop playing /clap before your intelligence btw can get flying in less than month sure your logic is flawless.

Flying is pve content. There is no flying in pvp. If you only do pvp, you don’t need it.

Flying is outdoor content. There is no flying in raids. If you only raid, you don’t need it.

And also would like to point out that pve=players versus environment. It covers all the fighting against npc’s including open world, not just instanced content (like some use it for).

Different requirements? As you mentioned flying is pve thing. You are kind of wrong, flying is open world thing. As such it makes perfect sense to be unlocked through world content = reputations, explorations and world quest.

I would cancel instantly if those were the conditions to gain flying. Way to harsh. Also, why first allow flying when you have no use for it? ‘You have done everything in the game, so here; now you can fly and do nothing new with it.’
