Just got a quest to do the Dawnbreaker. I go in there with the AI group.
I set it to Lead so I can follow them. All the tank does is say Mount up and fly to the next ship. No indication where that is. They’re supposed to be leading the way.
I mount up and fly up to see if I can spot something. Darkness kills me, the general (who is constantly yelling at me to fly to the next ship) now yells I need Lamplighter Blessing but no indication where to get that either.
Follower dungeons are a great idea and I got through all the DF dungeons thanks to this feature. Just needs a bit more work. Wow has added some very good accessibility features in the last few expansions. I hope they keep improving them.
If you’re talking about the first boss, then you don’t need to land to another airship or even the ground when she casts that dark sphere; just hover around until it ends, then reland on it.
If you’re talking about the trash groups before that, then there should be 3 ships in total and not in great distance between them, like 2-3 seconds of skyriding. All are viewable from one another even at low graphic settings.
You totally missed OP’s point. The player wants that information signaled in-game (which I agree with) rather than through a forum post or 3rd party website.
Follower dungeon especially this one teach me lesson where to stay in Dawnbreaker as mage in m+ to not get hit at that small house where everyone have hard time to land. I never noticed that big stone on left side next to it before.
Aye I had issues with this one too the first time but if you do give tank the lead he marks the ships you need to fly too. You just need to zoom out a bit to see the markers. . He also marks the “light” zones you need to fly too, the stone by the generals house and that dumb dingy you need to follow and fly through the orbs.
The only unclear part was when she casts the darkness that you have to mount up and then fly into the golden orbs around the ship. That one I had to figure out for myself by the que from the captain was to fly into the Lamplighter Blessing Orbs floating around the ship. Somehow I still ended up dead
I am pretty sure the followers follow you in Dawnbreaker. They teleport to you when you land on a ship. They basically wait. Even when you want them to guide.
Dunno I only did it for the quest and never been back. I can go test later and check and reply but they do mark the areas you need to go to with the ping system. Just look for the sword icon.
I fumbled around in the darkness and eventually found the ships. There were some markers on the minimap at times but they didn’t stay there and you had to be somewhat close to them to see them.
Some they’re on the right path with this, just needs some work to improve the markers.
Never did figure out this Blessing thing.
I made it to the last boss by my usual muddling through. But I couldn’t get to him when he ran off at about half health. I read on wowhead something about chasing a skiff and that’s just not for me. I’ll have to get a friend to help me with this one.
I knew Dragon Riding would be bad for me when in was announced pre DF. And it has been. Races are fine I can ignore them but when dungeon mechanics require being able to follow something then I’m done for.
So the ultimate flaw in this dungeon is not really the Follower AI or the markers (which could be improved but are a good first effort) but with Dragon Riding mechanics.
They just stand on the Dawnbreaker telling you to fly to the next ship. I put a {circle} over the head of the tank and could follow them when they went to the right place. But in this stage they just stood there.
So to answer your question nope. The NPC’s do not move and stay mounted even though you gave the tank lead. He sits on his mount waiting for you to move whilst spamming the ping. This would need fixing as you gave him lead so he should ping then
fly ahead and you can follow.
Opening map shows me the entire Hallowfall and not like a usual a dungeon map with bosses locations either. Not sure if this may be an addon thing (I use Elvui) or not but it don’t look like a regular dungeon map for me.
I’ve never used the Ping system, I guess I could learn a bit more about that. Maybe that would help me.
Yeah, this was an issue too (I have fairly standard UI, I do have TomTom though). My map was the same. Although like usual dungeons there were no co-ordinates so I couldn’t jot down where I found things.
