I was talking about the Detention Block only. It is obvious that there is a big difference between taking the shortcut path to the Elemental Boss through the back door and going to that boss killing all bosses on the way on the other two paths to him, through the dormitories or through the tavern.
That is why I said a good solution would be to have a good chunk of XP per boss so if a group chooses to kill all bosses from BRD they receive 2 or 3 times the XP.
Dungeons need to be worth while doing… More than just killing the last boss. And getting the LFG exp reward period.
Anyway Blizzard does this and still maintains dungeons worth while doing remains to be seen.
Some dungies don’t. Allot of them still do to though to make it here to the forums.
A linear path trough dungeons that coulnd’t just be skippable. Would give people allot less worse experience doing dungies.
Make it worthwhile to complete it, Not to race it for time spent.
Although it should be said though… How much would you all truly like this change? When your on your third alt and leveling and figuring out your characters… And you all just wanna reach 60 and try your stuff out.
Will you all rejoice over a slower and harder leveling phase then? That dungeons used give you a speedrun trough?
Think about it. You might think its great and all the first few times around… Then when your on your third and fourth alt around figuring your class out…?
On the other hand… Making dungies more difficult and rewarding. Might be a great oppertunity to teach players mechanics trough dungies and heroics for m+.
I never enjoyed meaningless/easy speedrunning, just like not enjoying shooting meaningless 12 boars all the time. The problem of the dungeon-leveling is even worse because of getting full time the same dungeon. It starts with only atal dazar in the dungeonpool for 5 levels, and then for another 5 levels freehold is added. And again with completely no danger or having to play the dungeon, it is a terrible experience.
They can up the XP and make the dungeons more dangerous so people actually have to play the dungeon. Next to giving everyone their interrupt on lvl 10, abilities like stagger and ignore pain to tanks instant and dispells for healers. I think the experience would be a lot more fun.
When you enter a dungeon you get an objective list to kill a specific number of bosses. This objective list does not include bosses designed to be optional. People shouldn’t get end-of-dungeon loot or the exp bonus that comes from completing the dungeon unless that checklist is finished.
The problem is that, for example, the 2nd dungeon you unlock during leveling is Freehold, and that dungeon is always a dash to the final boss, killing it and getting the exp. However, for new players this means getting very little gear, and your levels will outpace your gearing by a lot. There are solutions, but we are talking about new players, who will drop the game when they start struggling because they get no gear, because they always kill just one boss.
Atal’Dazar is pretty good as a first dungeon, because Yazma is locked until all other bosses are done. However, it too has some weird paths that will confuse new players.
Not only is skipping profitable, it is actively encouraged. This also means new players don’t get to learn the proper dungeoning experience, they don’t get to learn the majority of boss strategies, which get repeated in Shadowlands and in the end, the game raises worse players because it encourages them to not fight bosses.
so the ffxiv dungeon way then?
level sync/item level to the level of that dungeon like timewalking while adjusting stats
get interrupts at level 10
but then it means you cant pull big or too much dmg from the pulled mobs together wipes the tank
why not
aye there wont even be a need to “steal” this
look at the praetorium since the new patch
level scaled down to 50 with item level 60 and trash still can die fast
ilvl/level scale down and lets see how many dare to rush freehold last boss
if wow has this in dungeons you cant overpull or its a wipe
i think its wiser to put an automatic vote feature before a skippable boss. ‘yes’ will allow skip if wanted, ‘no’ will force the players to kill the boss.
and the results are final, even ifi someone was kicked or left.
i think thats the best middle-ground. you cant make everyone happy, so you can work for the majority.
