FPS problem since today

Hello, i play on Argent Dawn, if that matters.

Up until yesterday i had a steady 58-60 FPS anywhere.
Some times 45-50 when in a very populated world boss, but generally no FPS drop whatsoever.

But today i logged in, and everything started “popping” up slowly.
Then i’m stuck at 14~22 FPS

I got nothing else running apart from Twitch app and Discord.

Also, changing he graphics down to minimum does nothing at all.

I did not change anything on my PC.
Drivers are up to date.
I’m using i7 6700 with AMD R9 390, 16GB RAM, on Win10, on SSD.

Temperatures are around 32~41c for CPU and 50~51c for GPU.

I talked to people in the chat. Many have the same problem.
Specifically since today.
And doesn’t matter if they got Nvidia or AMD.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey Hordsax,

You mentiong not changing anything, but could you try things out for me after going through the steps to clear your UI (addons) please.

If that still does not help out, post your System Files so we can have a closer look into this. Please go through the steps listed here, and create both the MSInfo and DxDiag files. Post them on a page like Pastebin.com or share directly with us through OneDrive. Post the links here afterwards, so we can have a look.

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!

Uninstalled Twitch, cleared addons, reset settings, just as the link says.
No improvement.

Still, lowering graphic settings didn’t change anything.
Not that it should, until now i used “recommended settings” (High).
I change ground clutter and particle density to minimum.
Plus windowed mode with VSync on.
And i got 55-60 FPS anywhere.

Here’s the link to the OneDrive folder where i have the two texts, MSInfo and DxDiag

OK, so weird thing…

I turned off “performance mode” from BIOS settings.
And all of a sudden i’m at 59-60 FPS again.

But that doesnt make sense. I had it ON, all this time.

And suddenly… while i was just AFK beside the mission table.
FPS goes from a constant 75-90, to 20-25.
And is stuck there, whatever i do, wherever i go.
Temperatures at 32-47c (cpu) and 47c (gpu).

What the hell is happening!!! I literally didn’t do anything.
I was sitting on my desk, doing other stuff.

I did not move one bit.
And FPS went from stuck at 20-25 to constant 70+

I give up.
this is crazy.

Thank you for the files. I do have a few things I’d like you to try, and see if that improves things.

To start with, let’s fully disable Discord, Viber, uTorrent and Overwolf. Restart once done, and double check that these programs have not started itself up again. If they have, disable them once more. After that, Check your AMD application, and disable the Overlay.

Test World of Warcraft once more afterwards.

Hey, I just wish to clarify that Overwolf should not be the cause for FPS drops in WoW (or any other game). Since Overwolf is targeted specifically for gamers, we put game performance as a top priority.

That being said, we can’t be perfect (though we try really hard to :slightly_smiling_face:) so I will leave our support email address for anyone here who might need help with Overwolf or its apps: support@overwolf.com
