Frost/fire get +5% dmg buff on Wednesday

Who read my other Thread named “Some words from 2800+rio frost mage”, where I suggested 5% flat dmg increase?

Maybe I should have wrote 10%, since they listened…

It’s not even mentioned in the title of the article, kinda shows how insignificant the changes are: -

Mage

  • Fire

    • All ability damage increased by 5%.
  • Frost

    • All ability damage increased by 5%.

doesnt change that the design of fire is fried. combustion is just a terrible thing to be left in game. it literally triples your dps while your fireball hits for 3k lolz

The problem with Fire is that outside Combustion it has no dps! SKB uptime depends on your global cd. Those with decent dps has very fast global CDs so the uptime of SKB is higher than those with lower global CDs. Increase the haste of Fire and give us some spells to use outside SKB.

So get some haste gear? New order system is great for sorting out your secondaries on jewelry.

Also to everyone on the forums, you not liking a playstyle does not make it broken, it means you don’t like it. Fire channel in the mage discord was buzzing with people thrilled to get back to fire after the buff, a lot of people like the playstyle.

I swear they’re using a dart board to pick what they need to buff.

Glacial Spike: -

  1. Buffed by 15%
  2. Icicle contribution to GS nerfed by 25% in PvP
  3. Buffed by 10%
  4. Buffed by 5% (all abilities)

Ignite: -

  1. Nerfed by 12%
  2. Buffed by 5%
  3. Buffed by 5%
  4. Indirectly buffed by all abiltiies being buffed

If someone hits a triple 20 for the next round of hotfixes we’ll be flinging out 180k regular Pyroblast crits.

I love Fire’s playstyle.
It saddens me I am forced to play Arcane because it’s just so so so much better…
I doubt 5% will help Fire though.
We need some reduced Pyroblast cast times and perhaps another few % in Ignite.

Totally disagree. Same reason I used to like casting rune of power before combusting, it break things up, its the calm before the storm, it gives more feeling of power. It’s why a lot of frost mages miss glacial spike, why chaos bolts feel so satisfying, why void torrent is fun.

Also put less in ignite, make it do less damage than flame strike/patch on 4 targets and balance the spec from there. I want to be able to do decent boss damage and that can’t happen when ignite is strong without making the spec op at cleave.

Also also, run ice flows. With clasm and skb its a game changer, honestly. Takes a bit to get used too but its so good.

be careful, my friend suggested a load of changes once, blizzard copied it exactly, then when he made a thread saying they did so, he got muted and the thread deleted lol

What is with the change of mind? I remember I had couple topics about the exact same things and you were defending arcane and praised how amazing it is and people just need to learn it when they said they want to play frost or fire.

I rolled Mage to play Fire.
I did say ppl should learn Arcane, as I did, for the simple reason it is the strongest spec ONLY If you want to push content (high keys or M raids), you should play the strongest your class provides.
I will never defend anyone who refuses too learn a spec simply because “it looks hard” or “I don’t like it” without trying it.
Just as I will never invite a Frost DK into my groups if Unholy is this much stronger, that is just griefing your team.

True, but quick WCL lookup fixes that ^^.
