Gaming lag while doing dungeon runs or raid

My laptop is a gaming one and is now years old. I have the settings as efficient as they can go with the current standing of the game and even had to factory reset the computer to regain better performance play. Any suggestions that either my graphics card needs to be changed or the motherboard needs replacing?
I had my ex BF stomp on my laptop couple years ago after he assaulted me and by miricle the computer was able to be powered back up after some repair. Since that incident the game hasn’t really been much the same.

I have a motherboard waiting to be installed which seems to be better than my current and hope it resolves the lagging issue. Please give me your thoughts on the issue it can be.

Thx

hard to say for a gaming laptop .i have a gaming laptop too but in my case when it needs an update i just buy a new one

you should probably put your specs but even then changing components in a laptop will be a problem . only eaiser things to replace or add or upgrade are mostly things like ram , ssd drive .

if money is tight .i will aqdvice to gather some money and get something like acer nitro v5 . i got mine cheap . it doesnot have like very high graphics but i can run the game on 6 or 7 preset with 60 fps .i will put the specs for reference.

Thx for that, appreciate it. I will have a look at my nvidia specs if they are lower and hopefully the newer motherboard should have the better specs
