General RP Chat #52: *A flash of light did nothing*

You could probably make a story out of that. It depends on how it's told. The dream being coherent in the first place helps. I think writing these down primes my brain for greater coherency from A to B even if the premise is bizzare.
The last time I had a coherent dream, it was an endless loop of... going to sleep.

I mainly remember it because, as you can likely imagine, I felt really trippy when I eventually woke up from it.
My game time is ending in five days. I haven't logged in... in two weeks? I think I will continue this trend. Forums are my main reason to even have sub, for now. This isn't a peeve thread, right?

I'm pretty sure one of these posts of mine details a dream where I dreamt of waking up and going back to sleep several times until it confused me as to what was real.
Since we're doing this: last week I had a dream where I was building a pyramid. In my girlfriend's bedroom. My head is, apparently, a silly place.
Recently, I dreamt that I was playing an elder scrolls game. I knew it to be so because I had somehow found three npcs dead via circumstances outside my control.

Looting them for goodies, as you do, I found several weapons and one of the corpses who had once been a dark elf perched atop a low wall had a box containing "Boethiah's Luckstone" which triggered an update to a quest I hadn't started, breaking the quest and assuming I was working for the dark brotherhood with an iconic character appearing to confiscate the luckstone.

So, random dead npcs and broken quests. Classic Bethesda, right? Time to load an old save. Or, you know, wake up.

Yeah, there's been plenty of days lately where I either don't log in, or log in for a few moments before logging out.

The forum and "my characters" are the only reasons I'm subbed, currently.

Well, it kinda is, so long as you can do it in a witty and urbane manner. Here, put on this top hat and monocle, then chortle after every negative comment.
Also, night time driving in a city is greatly enhanced whenever your iPod throws out these kinds of tracks on shuffle, all in a row …

So, the sub numbers supposedly dropped to 1.7 mil. They aren't going to shut down, right? I'm not done RPing...

That is a bad sign but I don't think that is likely to happen.

1.7? Care to provide a source?

I found this: https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/9ogzdh/clarification_about_what_happened_today_weakauras/ but as it says - the original source was deleted. And false rumours would hardly be surprising - esp given years of DDOS attacks and such. Blizzard say it's false rumours as well.
Yeah, let's not jump into conclusions. We would SEE if the world emptied drastically.

Not sure you will see, before it reaches critical degrees. Blizzard will use their sharding techniques as much as they can to disguise the smell of rot under their storng industrial perfume :-P
Anyways, so many people i know are badly dissapointed and burnt-out, and not only or even because of the story.

* * *

Seems I hadn't been around for some time, especially after my last posts in the 'above you' threads were drawing too much focus away from my RL writing work ;-P
(aka - when i made long posts there, I take them seriously. sometimes a bit too much...)

Finally I got one of the parrot mounts (the green one) for Raeloria. Just think about all the havoc she could cause in Silvermoon Bazaar with a giant parrot at her command :-)

In another note - I resumed the work on my old idea of writing an "alternative" story & questline for BFA, taking place in a revamped old world. The purpose is to try to produce a good story with * real* morally grey factions.
I will be using some of my own characters for some side stories (right now, I'm mainly using Mellingtone for one of the Elwynn forest story-lines).
Surprisingly, Amnastaria is out of the story - I'm going to replace her with other blood elf renegade - a paladin - which fits the plotline much more then Amna.

And just to make things clear - though I've taken inspiration from past RP here, I will never use anyone else's character without a clear permission.
If anyone has a question, or want to talk with me about a certain character, the story, etc - my B-tag is Amnastaria#2931

Right now, I'm both writing down the Elwynn storyline, and also searching for a proper site host, which will allow me the simple method of making a websight based on word documents transformed to html. Will update when I'll have a breakthrough :-)

The original context here is that the supposed claim was: subs have dropped from 3.2 to 1.7 since BFA's start. That is a critical degree, if true. Pretty much half of "us" would've quit, and I have yet to see such emptiness, sharding or not. It isn't just one server emptying - it is all of them. I remain a skeptic on this.
I don't know if it got t 1.7 or not, but the ranks are getting empty. A lot of people are quiting or thinking about quiting. Though RP'ers are not a good example, as they create their own content.
Face it - BFA has some positive aspects, but overall, its a bad expansion. The story (the main faction war) is laughable, and lots of pve content seems like lazy recycle from legion. Even where they had good bases - like the island, they spoiled it with rush and questionable decision.
I can see why people are getting fed up or burnt out.

Anyway, draining of the playerbase won't be seen equally in all servers and communities. Smaller servers and certain kind of communities/kind of players will dry up earlier.
That I can agree with, and wish not to argue about. I just don't want to jump a gun regarding actual sub numbers, because most of the time it is just doomsaying.

However, I myself barely managed to level one character to 120 and didn't really bother to do any content after reaching the max. My sub runs to its end in three days and I don't see myself renewing it, to be honest.
I'm thinking about un-subbing as well - though I'll wait till Blizzcon, and I'll also see if my current writing project will progress and require me to stay subbed for the sake of forum approach to publish links to updates and so.

If It won't progress, and nothing in Blizzcon will impress me, I'm out as well.
I get you two and... I did a mistake.
I leveled a warlock as my main. Sure, Affli is strong but i don't like playing affli.
in other words i went desto, and desto were so crappy to play that i lost my passion for the game while leveling up v.v
so i now sit in a boat where i've not done content on rumi since i unlocked Mag'har.
What do you think of my new horns?
