I want to unlock the artifact appearances for my warlock, and I was wondering if I can get them with using a different weapon which is transmogged to the artifact weapon or I have to use the artifact weapon itself?
If i understood correct , you are asking if you are possible to progress and unlock artifact skins meanwhile you artifact weapon is transmoged to something else?
If that is your question , the answer is yes.
You can have your artifact transmoged into a green 20ilvl weapon and you can still unlock its skins.
No. I mean if I have a 385 staff for example and its transmogged to the Scepter of Sargeras, can I get the skins with that or I have to use the artifact weapon itself?
