After the recent removal of gold drops from legacy raids in MoP Classic, it feels like Blizzard is tightening control over the in-game economy.
Instead of addressing botting directly, they’ve cut off one of the few legitimate gold-making options for regular players—while the Token and current-content farming remain untouched.
Whether intentional or not, the result is the same: players have fewer free ways to earn gold, and paid or “controlled” options become more attractive.
It looks less like a move against gold sellers and more like a shift to centralize gold flow under Blizzard’s systems.
Lately it feels like Blizzard is quietly steering players toward buying gold instead of earning it. Each time a reliable gold source gets nerfed—like legacy raids or old professions—the Token suddenly looks like the easiest solution. It’s hard not to notice the pattern: less player freedom to farm, more pressure to spend real money for the same convenience we used to earn through gameplay.

This has been my main gold income since Cataclysm because i refuse to battle with AH bots. I’ve specifically leveled alts to bring in more gold. This is actually disgusting

Blizzard making a CRINGION(a.k.a. Legion) change in MoP Classic is indeed disgusting. A most stupid decision.
That’s true for now , but if history tells us anything, once players figure out a consistent way to farm decent gold from Wrath or Cata raids, it usually gets “adjusted” soon after. Every time a gold source becomes popular, it ends up nerfed, and players are quietly pushed toward paid or “controlled” alternatives.
I really hope Blizzard proves us wrong this time, but the pattern is hard to ignore. Instead of rewarding players who find creative ways to farm, the system keeps redirecting us toward spending real money for what we used to earn through gameplay.
Blizz would rather have GDKPs, with a toxic community to boot and all the bots than having players actually getting gold the legit way.
These devs and this company need to be checked for morality and fairness.
The problem is people were making too much gold buying cheap wow tokens for subs which is killing their subs income.
So what do they do merge servers raise the gold price of wow token which has almost tripled in past few months then target the easy gold farms ie: legacy raids.
Blizzard’s never gonna stop GDKPs — the gold from Tokens has to circulate somewhere
What was even the point of this, it’s just another L move by blizzard. Combat the bots, instead of hurting actual players. Multi billion dollar company btw.

My main priest is both DP and Holy, i could solo BC raids fine with a bit of time just chilling in VC with guildmates or a vid on second monitor. Finaly got around to up my DK to 90 to go through it a bit easier and have an extra gold earner… Just to get through 3 bosses of SSC and realise my gold did not go up…
and dailies suck! so guess it’s back to the poor life…
Its not even that u can easy cear raids btw some raids have mehanics and they r scriped which made hard to pass even with 90 lv with celestial gear. For example lady vash no f way u can solo that. bwl first boss is also sometime funny to do i got die on hunter prob few times its like rng with it.
