Has the Christie Golden's Blood Ties e-book been delayed on Kindle for Europe?

Hey,

I’ve pre-ordered the newest e-book which is scheduled to be released on Nov 18th, but suddenly I got an e-mail from Amazon that it will be Delayed to December 5th… As soon as I saw that, I immediately canceled as I want the e-book on Day 1  The paper version of the book appears unaffected.

I decided to pre-order from a different device (my phone, instead of computer) - and now Amazon lists the book being released on Kindle on November 18th as it was the original plan… Still not certain if it is a bug, or a genuine delay.

Can you please tell me if you’ve received a similar message from Amazon or any other retailer, that the e-book is being delayed? I will be very disappointed if it’s true, and will probably look for a paper version, if it’s available before December.

I’m in the UK and have a similar thing. Until three days ago my pre-order of the book was saying the 18th of November for the paperback, we almost never get hardbacks of Warcraft novels in the UK (kindle had the same date) then Amazon suddenly changed the date to the 5th of December.

Other retailers, both websites and physical bookstores continued to say the 18th of November. Today Amazon suddenly updated the website to list a Hardback version for two and a half times the price of the paperback was available which would release on the 18th, however it still wouldn’t be delivered until the 5th of December. Other retailers continued to say there is no hardback, only paperback and have as of today updated their release dates to the 5th of December too.

This type of chaos used to be common in the UK with Warcraft Novels, which according to a friend I have who works at a book publisher was likely because Blizzard were having a US based company(with no idea about the UK systems) handle distribution over here, hence poor supply/distribution and missed release dates. However the last few novels have gone off without a hitch, he believes because they were using a UK based company that actually knows the systems to assist. I’m guessing that this chaos is because of Microsoft’s cost cutting meaning it’s once again being mismanaged as it used to be in the past.

Sadly I’m guessing this means I’ll just have to spend the next 2.5 weeks dodging spoilers. :frowning:

Hm… I just checked my second pre-order, from the Amazon US. The date apparently holds. The preorder (with taxes) is $18.63 - which is about 16EUR.

I hope I will have no issue and will report on this thread when I receive my book. Hopefully, after two days
