Suboptimal is a late night raiding guild which formed at the end of 8.3 with the goal of creating a Mythic team with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, smooth progression with improvement tier on tier, and a schedule and commitment level which fits in the lives of people with a real life whilst still respecting the time of everyone in the raid. Since our formation we have grown our community and built up our Core Raid team, reaching 6/10M in our first tier whilst maintaining our good vibe, and we are looking ahead into Chains of Domination with the intention of improving as a group and getting further into the raid. As a part of this process, we need to fill out our roster with a couple more DPS players and a healer to give us more flexibility and improve our consistency. We are not recruiting to have a large bench, we want players willing and ready to join us right now and become a part of our main raid team. If you’re looking to join a group of active players wanting to push themselves into more challenging PvE content, while keeping a chill vibe, good banter and a friendly atmosphere, then we are for you!
The social aspects of a guild are its backbone, so players who want to join as socials or raid substitutes are more than welcome to! PLEASE NOTE: Joining this way won’t prevent you from coming to events, playing content with us or becoming a part of the raid team in future (although you would still have to trial for a spot).
We are currently looking for:
* Ranged DPS players of all specializations (Warlock and Mage are slightly prefered)
* 1 Healer (ideally any spec other than mistweaver)
Applying to join the Raid team will involve a trial period during which we will be looking at:
- Level of communication
- Personality fit
- Willingness to help the team and take an active role in our strategies
- Player performance (throughput, mechanical play ,ect.)
- Ability to accept reasonably offered criticism
Along with making sure that you’re ready to meet the expectations we have for our Raiders in terms of availability and character maintenance.
Expectations for Raiders:
- Keep up with renown, legendary level and gearing outside of raid
- Be ready to Raid at start time (arrive 15 minutes early), so that we can pull on time
- Sign up early, communicate your availability and attend raids you sign up to
- Be open to constructive criticism, and take some time to try to improve your personal play. We are always happy to help!
- Be respectful of other people’s time and be understanding of the need for focus in raid as necessary, whilst trying to keep our positive atmosphere more generally

- Monday: 22:00-01:00 ST
- Thursday: 22:00-01:00 ST
Other Content:
- M+: Many of our players are interested in running M+ dungeons and pushing keys in this expansion, so if this is something you enjoy you will find like minded players here.
- PvP: After the start of Shadowlands we seem to have had a slowly growing interest in doing some PvP in our guild. There are some players who are enjoying getting into arena, and we may run some more RBG groups next tier
- Other games: Many of us play a variety of other games as well as WoW, and often get into new games together
- Collectors: Recently we have been getting into organising some events for collectors (Glory of the CN raider and Glory of the SL hero runs) and there is definitely room to do more of this in the future!
